Save a lot of money by purchasing souvenirs at the Walmart just down the street. They have a large selection of Disney souvenirs for a fraction of the price paid at Disneyland.
Just a correction, there are indeed Single Rider lines at Disneyland for the following attractions: Indiana Jones Splash Mountain Matterhorn Space Mountain
Just FYI, in regards to water - any counter service place inside Disneyland will give you a cup of water with ice, for free. It's always good to bring a bottle of water anyway, but just wanted to share this tip.
Adding to the water tip: Feel free to bring a re-usable bottle or a bottle with a filer in the cap. Many areas in Disneyland have stations to refill them for free without using a water fountain (there's one at the Mint Julep bar in New Orleans, for example). In my opinion, Anaheim water has a bit of a weird after-taste, so be sure to get your hands on a bottle with a filter if you have picky little ones that need to stay hydrated. Also, if you can, either wear or have someone in your party wear a backpack with water bottle holders on the sides. It's super easy to have water on hand instead of having to dig through your bag every time you need a drink. Keep the back pack fairly empty so it'll fit into the bag holders on the rides (or just give the backpack to someone in your party who hates roller coasters, of any do). Failing that, just make sure your bottle is tightly sealed and either has a one-way cap or that the cap itself is on securely, so water doesn't get on anything. If you don't bring a reusable bottle, that's fine! but just note that you can always crush your empty plastic bottles down to make room in your bag until you can refill it. Let's say you're super thirsty and you didn't bring water. That's okay! Make your way to the Red Rocket Pizza Port in Tomorrow Land. Go in, grab a cup, fill it with ice and water, and show the cashier that it's just ice water. They'll let you walk out with it for free. You can also fill your reusable water bottle with ice if you want your water cold!
Hydration is key in Disneyland, especially because if you're anything like me, you'll need to re-hydrate after eating all the amazing sweets they have!
You, my friend, have the incredible ability to make any place sound like the happiest place on Earth; it must be your undying enthusiasm for what you do. I’m not sure what else you do for a living, but you were born to be an explorer and a superb travel guide. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
For Indiana Jones I don’t actually recommend getting a fast pass unless ur in a rush. The queuing design for that ride is absolutely amazing and I wouldn’t wanna miss it (btw if it tells u to not do something, do it)
Headed to Disneyland June 9- 21st. Can't wait, never been to Disneyland. Been to Disney World a few times so Im excited to see and Believe !!! 😀 Lisa 🌼 Myrtle Beach SC 🌴
I am going in August I can't wait to go. I haven't been there since my daughter was 4 years old now she is 18 teen. Going for 3 days and going to other parks to. Can't wait...
Note that Earl Of Sandwich and most of the other tenants in that part of Downtown Disney will be closing soon to make way for a new hotel that Disney will be building in that area.
Going to Disneyland for a school trip in January (it's never too early to prepare) and I'm hyped! Thanks for all the information, now all I have to do is tell my friends to watch this video too.
Thanks, very useful actually as I am going to Disneyland on my first trip to California with the kids this week and I am pretty confused about a lot of things so the video came in the right time, Thank you
LOVE the corndog cart! They are sinfully good! Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is pretty good. For higher end dining I love Napa Rose in the Grand Californian (my favorite), and Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel. Pretty pricey but you get what you pay for. World of Color is pretty jaw dropping spectacular if you have never seen it. But it's so very very crowded! Be prepared! Good review Chris!
Thank you for your video. I come from Australia and I visited in 2014 with my two daughters, this has brought back so many good memories just seeng it again.
Watch the fireworks first, fantastic second, and watch it from the Plaza Inn sipping a cool drink from a comfortable seat. Stephen Wimer author of "My Disney Side" on Amazon books, original guest since opening day, 55.
California Adventure is under construction to build the new "Pixar pier" where the World of Color is being held. Just wanted to inform you guys as you plan for your next visit. There is also more construction around it's a Small World ride. (April 7th 2018)
I always like your travel vids, I followed your advice when I went to Vegas last January, and I was able to find the good food. Thank you. Keep posting ☺
I haven't read all the comments but just in case no one has said it, there are also filtered water stations throughout the park where you can fill your water bottles. I would NEVER recommend drinking from the fountains...the water is anything but clear ahah
Awesome video...When we go we ask the server for a cup of water and it's free. Not purified and tastes nasty (Anaheim water) but free. I drink a ton of water and don't want to go broke doing it.
Our son works at Disneyland and we've been annual passholders for years since our kids were little. Everything about Disney is awesome from the rides to club 33 !!! You gotta experience Club 33!
@@straightouttacoruscant8367 private membership club....there is a 10 to 15 waiting list to join, cost 20,000 to 40,000 dollars and 10,000 renewal...look it up
You should also do these kinds of videos on a day at Knotts Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain if you ever go to those. Six Flags, of course is pretty much a roller coaster park. It can either be a thrill seekers dream come true, or a coaster hater’s worst nightmare.
Crazy idea here, but you can take that bottle you just drank all of your water from and refill it at any drinking fountain. Rancho del Zocalo has a water dispenser (and free refills if you're a soda drinker and hate Pizza Port). Indiana Jones Adventure and Splash Mountain have single rider. For Indy, they give you a pass at the entrance and send you up the exit (along with ADA groups) and give you additional instructions to board. For Splash you go through the exit. ADA groups will line up on the left, so proceed all the way and cross the little bridge over the logs. Corn Dogs can also be had at Stagedoor Cafe (on the side of the Golden Horseshoe). Theirs have french fries as the side.
Wow thank you been planning my trip to Disneyland and it's 5 days before I'm going and yours has been the most informative video the stuff that I have been searching for through hundreds of videos give the basics and throw information thank you so very much so glad I found your video
Oh pronunciation is really cool , even i could understand easily comparatively. Really missing Disneyland, I ve visited in there in 2014, I felt have butterfly in my stomach. I d like to visit again absolutely ...if corona clam down
Thank you! I’ve just finished watching your 10 things to know before you go to Disneyland and DCA. They are packed full of useful information. The last time I was in Disneyland was back in 1969 when I was in the USN. Hopefully, when this virus is gone I would like to take one of my grandsons to Disneyland. Thank you very much, your video was fantastic and yes I just subscribed.
as a former cast member I can honestly say the best tip ever is to tip a cast member a couple of dollars and ask for a re admission pass. 9 out of 10 times they will because even though I loved my job the pay was horrible
can you elaborate on the re admission pass please....i was under the impression that other than sit down restaurant servers , accepting cash was a big no no for cast members to the point they can get fired.
Been to disneyland 15 maybe more times in my life (im 22 and dont even live in California) and never eaten at the blue bayou :/ nor have I spent time in downtown disney except 1 time. Watching this vid made me realize that If I go again (and I will because Im an addict, its a problem) I gotta do something different besides riding space mountain 3 times and eating chicken tenders in that damn galactic grill.
Thank you for the tips! I'll keep these in mind if I get a chance to visit Disneyland! I need to check out both Disneyland as well as Disney World over in Orlando one of these days.
You certainly do! For what it's worth, I think DisneyLand is cooler than the "Magic Kingdom" at Disney World. Than Disney World as a whole (with it's 4 theme parks) is probably cooler than Disneyland + California Adventure :). But Disney World you almost have to spend a week there to see it all.
Great to know! I can believe that about Disney World as two coworkers of mine were there (separately) for about a week although one of them also went to Universal Studios in Orlando.
Love your videos, my good man! PS: Brought a smile to my face when mentioning enjoying prime rib while watching boats go by (Blue Bayou) as that is a tradition of mine -- always at least one meal at that restaurant (during a week's trip) and, hopefully, while seated at a table closest to the water! Keep up the great work, sir! Oh, would you please (have you in a different video?) film from Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney? Another tradition of mine is to sit at the table adjacent the (mighty) animatronic gorilla! (I typically call in advance so as to secure that spot, and the staff are always gracious to oblige!)
Thanks Ben! Good minds think alike! I think the Rainforest Cafe won't be around much longer at Disneyland.. they will be building a new hotel and will be tearing down a bunch of existing stuff in Downtown Disney to make room for it. Hopefully it reopens in the new hotel!
Wondering if you still see the New Orleans restaurant in downtown Disney that have the Beignets?? Those are one of our favorite places to eat. And if you like corn dogs in the park.
You’re also allowed to take food into Disneyland, I don’t know why people coming on vacation wouldn’t want to know this. Like seriously, you don’t need to hide it or leave it in a locker or anything. My family usually buys subway sandwiches and bags of chips or other snacks and we can sit anywhere we want inside and eat when we feel like it. You can even sit at the tables at most counter food restaurants and eat your food there.
Best eats are the Bengal bbq in front of Indiana Jones and The fried chicken at the plaza inn, really good food. Also the plaza inn has all you can eat breakfast in the mornings for $25 w character meet and greet. Also the corn dog cart, in front of the plaza inn, if you want to save $$$, just get the corn dog by itself, I believe you save a couple of bucks. Whatever you do don't get the beignets in Disneyland those aren't good. The ones that taste like the cafe du monde, as in just like the New Orleans location are at the Jazz kitchen, ask for fresh ones. If you want to save money, outside food are allowed in as long its not a glass container. I take a backpack full of chips, waters, kids drinks and cokes, so don't be shy to ask for a cup of ice. I've seen people bring subway, a packed lunch from home, and burgers into the park. Get the Maxx pass its so worth it. You will get on many rides with this. Also as soon as the park opens head straight to notorious long wait time rides. Im not a parade person those are good times to get on rides as well.
