OMFG I KNOW THE ROAD IN THE VIDEO i swear to fucking god i know that place. that little white house is a BnB i always pass whenever i go on camping holidays up in west Wales. i live in Cardiff and its not too far from there. holy shit. ive been there like a few times in my life and that little white house is stuck in my head, shit. this may seem like nothing to you but im kinda freaking the fuck out. i honestly sometimes find myself thinking about that building and that road. I always wish we stopped there to stretch our legs and grab some food while on the road. and to find this right after watching 'welcome to night vale' has made me rethink my entire life. that thing is like a land mark of my childhood. man i just watched the rest of the video thats the exact fucking road we follow to go where ever the hell we always go we friggin ALWAYS pass that house i am fucking freaked out. shit.
and on the other side of that mountain from the start there's like this massive crater that looks like an asteroid or something has hit it. i remember that shit really well cause i always wondered what it was or what made it cause it was so friggin big but i never asked my parents. shit its all coming back to me.
Just wanna say that Taran Wanderer + the rest of the series of books were my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES for two years and it's wonderful to see such a great piece of music referencing them!! :D
Taran Wanderer is a track that syncs to this mood I get in from time to time. Not depression, but some weird itteration of limbo & longing, for some where or some time I've been or existed in, yet... I have not. ...who needs drugs when your brain digs the rabbit hole?
hopefully not THAT unknown. I chose the title for this track because this particular landscape is what inspired Lloyd Alexander to write those books. He was American but stationed in Wales while he was in the military and began reading the mythology of the area, which was the main influence on his fantasy series.
