Welp I almost cried. My hairyness is the biggest problem I have with my body. Haven't been to the pool since I was about 13 and I've never ever worn shorts (out in public) in my entire life

this is the first time that i’ve realized it is so weird to see woman’s leg and armpit hair but why when it’s natural it is a normal bodily function

My mum keeps telling me that I need to wax my legs and saying that my legs are manly. But after watching this video I’m going to keep standing my ground and stay confident with my decision of not removing my my body hair. And I hope some day that young girls don’t feel ashamed or pressured to be hairless.

Im 13 and I’ve never shaved. My mom, friends, and sister pressure me to, and I’m blonde so my hair doesn’t show up a ton, but it’s my choice. Not my moms, not my friends, mine. And I don’t want to shave :)

As a man I find nothing wrong with women with body hair, I like women the way they were designed not what some greedy industry dictates. Women should look like women - not like little girls. I wish more women would take the stand that these beautiful people have.

I almost cried. I have been hairy (I have hair on my arms, chest, legs, back and yeah all my body) since I was a child and I've been struggling with that. Only because I was thinking about what other people would think. Shave affects my skin and I really hate it because it takes me a lot of time and it grows really fast. Like it is a waste of time to shave in the first place. But I do it because I feel ashamed if someone else sees it.

This is such an important topic that isn't talked about enough. I started getting bullied for my body hair when I was ten years old. I invested so much time, money and mental energy throughout my life into having a hair-free body and was still made fun of every time I missed a patch. On top of all of this hair removal is such a painful and brutal thing, waxing makes you bleed, shaving gives you cuts and scars and hair-removal cream can burn your skin. I love that people are embracing body hair and that, for the first time in my life, women like me can feel proud rather than ashamed of their natural bodies and have so much time and energy to invest in other areas.

How can body hair be considered dirty on a woman but not a man ? 🤔 That doesn't make any sense. What is dirty is dirty on everyone.

Many people justify their thoughts towards body hair saying that it's unhygienic. But that's just so incomplete. Did you know that the original reason why we developed, say, armpit hair, it's to be more hygienic? When we are not wearing t-shirts, armpit hair gets soaked with sweat and offers more surface for it to dry faster, and so the bacteria can't have a chance to grow in our skin. So the real problem is covering that zone. So does that make wearing t-shirts and clothes unhygienic...? That's a conclusion we could jump to but I don't see anyone talking about that

I remember I had a boyfriend and he asked me to meet him but I said I cant really because I didnt waxed and I had a lot of hairs .. he was so shocked he said " Ewww Girls dont have hair , why do you have " ? I was literally speechless 😑

This thing about shaving body hair is so strange to me as a Nigerian. I only knew it was a thing after I started watching movies and stuff. We don't care over here lol.

Here I am, re-watching this 3 years after it was released finally at a state of mind to accept my body. This is what started me questioning shaving my legs and armpits daily, just a waste of time and money over other's approval. The moment my family found out a few weeks ago when I raised my arms every single person had the same shocked expression, laughing. As soon as I say "it's my natural body, and I love it" everyone went silent. Ignore the hate, love yourself. ✌✊❤

I remember being in class and stretching, my belly showed and this boy came up to me and told me, "You have hair on your belly" and I responded with "yeah I know, is there a problem with it though? No. There is no problem."

I will never understand what is "hygienic" about shaving off hair 😕

I remember watching this video 4 years ago and thinking they were ugly and the comments mostly agreed with me... Now 4 years later I'm back again, I think they are beautiful and really appreciate them for breaking beauty standards and the comments are mostly supportive. We love to see progress ♥

Absolutely beautiful!! Don't change a THING about yourselves. We live in a society that NEEDS to see others as different. That's where "isms" stem from. Whether it's sexism ,racism ageism etc, morons will always feed from it. Stay beautiful.

Someone once told me that if a woman doesn't shave or wax or in general keep herself "clean", then she doesn't respect herself enough. They said "I get repulsed by women who have body hair". To be honest, I was dumbfounded. I couldn't respond at all. I didn't know what to say to that. I literally started believing that I do not have any self respect. But then one day, I saw so many beautiful girls on instagram growing their body hair out and posting pictures. It then hit me, waxing or shaving or any kind of hair removal costs a lot. Beauty treatments are an investment and it only stays for like a good week or two. Within 15 days the hair is back again. So what do people expect? Do they expect us to keep taking out each body hair that grows back every single day to remain hair-free and "smooth"? I'm sorry, I just don't have the patience to waste an hour in the shower shaving my entire body every single day or go to the salon every other day to get waxed. And this doesn't mean I don't respect myself. Maybe I'm tired of it. Also my own dad believes that all other girls don't have body hair and only me, my sister and my mom do because we got really unlucky.

As someone who has always been so insecure about my body hair , I litterly cried when i watched this video..i felt so much relief and happiness..i felt accepted..thank you for making this video ❤

I cried while watching this, i felt so alone it's honestly so empowering to see actually hairy women talk about it, not a "oh i have hair on my arms in SO hAiRYyy" type of hairy, these are women who ACTUALLY have thick stomach hair and back hair like me, this made me feel like I'm not alone.

I feel like we're suposed to have "baby skin"..Like I'm not a baby. I'm a woman, I do have hair. So why should I be ashamed of not shaving it if I'm just being/acting my age. Woman have public hair. Like all my friends are shaving everything, and giving me weird looks. Girl, it's totally fine to shave it, but we don't have to because it's just a part of our female bodies. Like our skin has to be as young as a child would look like completely naked. No thanks.

I personally shave and I prefer the way that it makes me feel, but this is so important because it's vital for some people to hear that just because someone being hairless is what you may be attracted to or think is right (I'm talking to men AND women here) doesn't mean that anyone who chooses otherwise is disgusting or unclean. Saying that women simply shouldn't have body hair is an invalid point, it literally grows on our bodies and that's the most natural thing that there is. Whether you choose to shave or not, it's your life and you're not hurting anybody, and thus your choice.

Because of my chronic illness sometimes I can’t shave my hair off... I’m naturally blond and I don’t have so much hair, but I know well what society pressure means... I’m Italian and here Mediterraneans women often have many and very dark hair and since puberty family’s women teach how to bleach or shave coz “is not socially acceptable” to show hairiness...!!! ...Totally crazy!!! I would like people know that hair don’t mean dirty or not feminine!!! Thank you girls!!!

You know reading the comments I'm struck with the idea of you can find it attractive or unattractive as much as you want but why be nasty to people who don't look the way you think attractive should look. I don't find skinny guys attractive but I don't run around the internet being an asshole by calling them "disgusting" or "gross".

so I'm born in a country that has all kinds of people: pale,white,dark,brown skin...I have a dad who has naturally kind of ark skin. I mean,he's white but his skin is kinda darker,like a tanned skin that never goes away 😂. My mom on the other hand is very pale,no body hair. So I'm the oldest daughter and I got my dad's skin. I noticed that people who tend to have darker skin have darker body hair and hair in general. I was born with dark brown hair and dark body hair. During my childhood,I didn't mind it too much. I didn't pay attention to it at all honestly. Years later,my female classmates started to shave,even those with the same skin type as me. Their skin looked really smooth....and I was really jealous. I wanted my body hair to be gone. I begged my parents to shave it but they just refused. they didn't want me to get that body hair off. my dad lied to me and told me that I don't have a lot of body hair and that it's barely visible. he said that he didn't want my skin to be damaged at this age. he said that I was too young for shaving. I knew that he only wanted to make me 'feel better' but that only made me feel worse. I knew he wanted to make me feel better because he *knew* that I had a lot of hair. I was crying so much that night...it may seem like a silly thing to cry about,but I took it very seriously. I felt ugly. I felt stupid. I felt dirty. I can't describe how disgusting I felt. I was the only girl with body hair. I thoght that no guy would want me like this. I felt like this body hair was ruining my body....I just wanted to get it off. The next day,I saw this video. It felt so good to see women talk nicely about something I thought was disgusting....I then learned to love myself for who I am. I didn't mind my body hair anymore...I started loving it. I felt so beautiful and natural. So thank you for all the women who were talking about a topic like this♡ I,along with other females struggling,appreciate it❤

I don't necessarily find body hair attractive, but all these girls are legit beautiful. And I don't only mean in the inner beauty kind of way, but they're all very attractive. Kudos to them for having the bravery to go their own way despite what people think.

Any woman and any man is free to shave whatever part of their body they want or not. Just as any man and woman is free to think of aforementioned man/woman as attractive or unattractive. Some people will and other people won't like hairy legs, arms etc on women and that's perfectly fine too. Respect is a two way street.

I'm 16 and realizing that the body hair beauty standard for women... is a 7-8 year old child. And even then I got my period at 10 and noticed my body hair since 3rd-4th grade, and I'm black and my hair is thick everywhere so, yeah. I don't bother shaving bc who am I trying to look "smooth and clean" for, but I'll admit that the thick hair gets annoying, but not to the point where I need to shave it bare. It'll just grow back :')

I was in 8th grade when my classmates started touching my cheeks to feel the hair and call me a bear. I started getting it waxed right then. There was this one day when I came back from the salon and started crying like a baby. As if a volcano of that unerupted feeling was finally coming out. My elder sister asked me and I told her with a choking voice "they'd call me a bear if I don't do it. I've been doing it for 4 years. It hurts every time." And that's when she told me that I was so much more than the hair on my body and I didn't have to care about it. She gave me a "bear" hug and went like "you've achieved so much at school, the people who awarded, did they award you for being/not being hairy? Honestly no one really cares if you yourself don't" And that's when I stopped going to the salon after every 15 days. I still groom at home. I do my eyebrows and the little girlstache myself only to make my makeup in those areas to slide on smoothly. And I go on for months without waxing my sideburns.

As a 23 old woman, I don't care if somebody sees my hair (I do shave my armpits bc I found out I sweat less) I did care tho when I was younger now? nah. You wanna say something bad about hair, ok do so, I don't care about you 😂.

I have to say hairy women are very hot but just the same shaved women are hot. In saying that plump women are hot just like thinner women are hot. A lot of times older mature women are hotter than young.

I´m a conservative and have always found women with body hair awesome. Total turn-on for me. Conservatives may be more vocal about their opposition to women having body hair, but I see both sides subscribing to the superstition of it being unhygienic. Granted, unshaved women turned into a fetish for me a long time ago (the more the merrier), but overall women being shamed into shaving has more to do with big business interests than with cultural norms.

And amen! I stopped shaving in my early 30's when I saw a woman with thick bushy hair under her armpits and felt overwhelmingly disgusted by it. And I thought WOW, am I brain washed or what?!!! I'm studying Naturopathic medicine, but I'm grossed out by the natural way a sexually mature woman is? So right then and there I decided to get right with Nature and stopped shaving everything. My husband found it kind of weird at first, but 27 years later he adores me more than ever. More importantly, I love my and other women's bodies just the way they are. Once in awhile now I shave my arm pits. But it's for me; for my own comfort when it's super hot out not to alter the way I look, because I have a lot of thick hair and I feel cooler that way. Now it seems incredibly weird to me that people waste so much time shaving themselves.

I have Aspergers and have HUGE texture issues, which is why I shave. It drives me *insane* to have hair on my body, and have nearly caused me to have meltdowns. So, I *have* to shave. Not because other people want me to, but because it keeps me sane.

I shave every two days. I shave my arms, armpits, stomach, lower back, legs and my upper lip. I’m so happy that there are women in today’s society that feel so at ease with showing their bodies and their body hair without shame or embarrassment. I truly wish that I’ll be able to be and feel as free as they do. To accept that my body is they way that it is and looks and feels. I’m not there yet but I have hope. Wow, I didn't know this is such a huge thing. I never really saw hairy girls and women, so I actually never had to think about it. I knew that women are horrendously being pressured by society (all the individuals around us) to look and be in a certain way - but this video showed me that it's even more extreme than I thought.

I personally prefer to shave, but I do feel that women shouldn't be forced to a standard of shaving if they don't want to, women should do whatever they want with their bodies. This is so good for the world.

To anyone who needs to read this. Body hair is natural. Not liking body hair is a cultural thing. For example, have you ever felt gross or ashamed due to body hair? I bet most of you do. But have you ever felt gross or ashamed for having knees? Or arms? Or eyelashes? You don't hate body hair because you personally, withouth any kind of influence, just hate it. You hate it because people have shown you that having it is disgusting. The same way that nobody feels ashamed for having hands or eyelashes, bacause no one taught you to hate it since you were a kid and had no filter. And no one randomly develops a fixation to remove parts of oneself's body. That's not how it works.

I have to be completely honest that I really do love pampering myself with hot salt baths, exfoliating, doing face masks etc. I also love shaving my body... Moisturizing my legs, my whole body, and to feel my skin so smooth and glowing. Shining smooth arms and hairless armpits. It really makes me feel so lovely and fresh. *However* I seriously find this video incredibly inspiring and somewhat introspective! These women truly have found such empowerment in accepting their natural makeup. Not feeling the need to get up and shave their bodies to meet social beauty standards. But to stand by their own natural unique standards really is lovely and even more so refreshing.

Sometimes I shave and sometimes I don‘t. It depends on my mood. And fortunately my boyfriend is really happy with it. He likes me with smooth skin and with my hairy skin. He likes me with make up and without. He just likes me.
