I swear, he deserves so much more recognition. Writing and singing for two bands while also working on his solo album, and even working still during this pandemic, he's absolutely insane and amazing. Not to mention his writing in multiple genres of music, he's a bundle of creativity and talent ♥️

The quietness of those screams is so beautifully haunting

It's like everyone was told to come as edgy as possible but JENZiih didn't get the memo

I've read several comments mentioning how the screams are too quiet, and on one hand, I do agree. I like a lot of bands that scream close up and so it's easy to get used too, it would also be nice just to hear them closer up to get a good idea of how they really sound. However, I do think there's a reason, at least in the context of the video, and perhaps the lyrics but the second one I'm unsure of yet. But in the video, it's pretty clear what the idea is, and I think that's why the screams are so distant. This is what I'd call an empty scream, the type someone makes when they're crying out but know that no matter how hard they try, no one's going to help, no matter how hopeful they are, no one's going to help. In the video, that's the feeling that I'm getting. That no matter how much Yohio screams and wants this to stop, he knows it isn't going to, but he doesn't stop anyway. And the fact that the screams are far away enforce that, in the idea that we're too far away, or too far removed from the problem to be able to do anything to help. Or, I'm reading too deeply into a creative choice, I don't know, but that's the feeling I got from the distant and quiet screams.

I can totally hear this song in an anime that's either horror or Victorian era inspired supernatural like Gosick and The Mystic Archives of Dantalian. Also, love Yohio. He's dang amazing and I started with My Nocturnal Serenade from him so I didn't even know he was in a group before. Thank you RU-vid recommendations.

I love this mans screams because only fuck they are good. It takes a lot of skill to do a full on scream yes. But then we get subtle screams in Nocturnal Serenade where he adds them to the end of notes. Just a slight raw cord tacked onto the end but it adds so much emotion. Yohio really is the best at what he does holly hell
