I would never encourage a horse to bite, but I find myself cheering Ormonde at times. Such disrespect....and no one acknowledges each soldier who is giving them the privilege of being up so close! A simple "thank you" in any language would be appreciated!
I understand where you’re coming from there. I dislike horses biting BUT in this case these idiots are given PLENTY of warning from the horse. That they keep going back, over and over……what’s the horse to do? Besides, sucking up to the public isn’t their job. Most of the bites I’ve seen have been RICHLY deserved, and I have to say,if they treated a dog like they do the horses, there’d REALLY be some screaming. The horses are remarkably patient.
Most of the ‘bites’ are not hard, they are nips given to idiots to reinforce the horses desire to be left alone and given space. If they really wanted to bite hard there would be ambulances there everyday. I’ve been on the sharp end of an annoyed horse, I know.
I totally agree. If it was me visiting the UK and the kings guard I would ask the guard if he would mind me taking a picture I would hopefully to get a might bring a few apples for the horses if that’s allowed and thank him graciously. But honestly, I would rather have, just the picture of this lovely royal guard on his beautiful horse then to be sticking my ugly mug in there as well. LOL
It's kinda sad. People act like they're never seen a horse before. He and the guard aren't animatronics and the horse will bite, push, and strike out if irritated enough. I always root for the horse.
Some of them probably have never seen a horse in person much less at close range. NOT excusing their behavior, but it could explain their cluelessness.
We are always told that people in certain Asian countries believe in honour and respect ,but when they come here they let their countries down ,and behave like fools, with all of the shouting and abuse of the guards and horses .
@@LynneHill-zn1tw Oh, thought you would have been talking about the title idiot who was not Asian, saw no Asians shouting abuse in this video, perhaps you are confused and should read the title.
I can't hardly stand watching this group of people in these videos. They don't listen, they grab the reins more, they put their hands on the guards more, they run up to the horse and run away, they scream & jump like they're scared to death, just irritating! Every one of them!
When will tourists get in their thick heads, the guards and horses are not there for their entertainment. They are working military and should be respected.
They act like its a game. Where is the quiet respect and honor these guards and lovely horses deserve. If you are that afraid of horses stay far away from them. Geez.
How would she react if someone touched HER. I DON'T understand how anyone can feel free to touch someone else in situations like this. Shame on her for being so self centered.
In terms of character, Ormonde always reminds me of my Hanoverian Gelding, who earned his living as a school horse for children. When he was on duty, this was his most important task. Only the child and the teacher were important. He scared away over-worried mothers or fathers. In private, however, he was a social and friendly horse. When we went swimming, he was childish with sheer joy. I still miss him, after 20 years.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I know right? How many times does he have to kick someone's hand away before they take the hint? I dread to think how long it takes to polish those huge cavalry boots up to regimental standards.
Why the hell do people put their hands up to the horses nose, he isn't a dog he doesn't react to the scent of a persons hand. If the tourists realised how long it takes these troopers to polish their boots to that shine they would understand and apart from the fact they should never touch the guard anyway. I do wish people wouldn't rush up to horses, they are a flight animal and somebody suddenly appearing in their vision startles them and they could bolt, but this idiot banged poor Ormonde in the face she was very lucky he didn't retaliate and bite her hard.
Putting your hands near a horse’s nose or mouth often causes a horse to feel or nibble for a snack, which people don’t understand if they’ve never been around horses. And it’s wise to always use a flat palm.
The lady who kept touching the guard's boot doesn't realise just how close she came to Ormonde almost kicking her with his back leg, he clearly wasn't happy that she was touching the trooper either. 😂
@@sylviekins Ha! I was just talking to a person who lives in my building, about situational awareness. I used to teach my elementary students about looking around always, situational awareness! Am so happy to read your comment! 👍🏼

Majority of this is coming from the Chinese tourists not all of them just the ones who don’t care about the rules or they’re being told to touch the reins
Ormonde is trying to get the people to respect his space and the amount of time and effort that the guardsmen and women put into cleaning and polishing their kit and boots!
I live in the USA. I can't help but wonder how people in the US, that would run directly towards an MP and touch them in ANY branch of service would handle these people. I already know running at a police officer (non military) would be ordered to stop. If the person doesn't comply they'd be detained at the very Least. All of that to say "Why aren't these guards protected the same way"? The safety of the guards & the guards horses are put in jeopardy. Seriously, I don't understand how this behavior isn't disciplined in some manner. It would surely reduce this nonsense from occurring tremendously!! I wish there was a way to have this matter addressed before a guard or their horse are fatally injured.
Horses, like most tame animals, are usually great judges of character and some just don't suffer fools gladly.❤ Boss just bee for munchies others troopers when they get home.😂
were my eye's deceiving me... did they have a LOOSE rein on ormonde that day! GOOD lol I've noticed with him he doesn't mind when people approach him slowly with their hand out so he can sniff them
Kudos to those tourists who stood quietly for a photo, giving space to the soldier and his horse. They make those Asian tourists look very juvenile and very disrespectful. And yes, making hand gestures for the photo does look extremely juvenile. 🙄
I've watched a lot of these videos and I've just realised that the tourists are like flys to the horse, constantly getting in his face, we know how annoying that is especially when were in warmer climates!
You got to love the Horse! HE does not have to love the Tourist!! however. The rules are keep your DISTANCE! but you just cannot get through to those that are numb! up top.
There are days when I cheer Ormonde on! Oh Who am I kidding, Every time Ormonde is on Duty, I cheer Him on. I absolutely love and adore Ormonde. He’s one of my Favorites! ❤❤❤
Well I've see everything now..after watching this whole video Ormonde didn't attack or bite anyone..😂😂😂. Must be getting patient in his old age..bless his little white socks .
Imagine being that fine war horse,. having cameras on selfie-sticks Infront of your face, and to each side of you;. and worse still, some madly chattering, smiling goons taunting you for one whole hour... ORMONDE is a horse who gets the fact his Guard rider never stops him trying to take a chunk out of those idiots who OFFER him their fingers. Sadly it will make him bad-tempered because it's a torment. 😡
I’ve seen it so many times but I still can’t fathom touching someone like that! In what universe is that acceptable?!? When I leave home I take my brain and manners with me.🤔🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I feel for these horses. Not only do they have to stand still (when they're naturally built to move), but they have to do it in all weather conditions, and with a bunch of uncomfortable equipment, a soldier on their back, a harsh bit in their mouth, and a bunch of noisy, rude disrespectful crowds gathered around picking on them all day! 😡 We owe them their space and our respect at the very least.
Wow, horse stepped out to stop that woman at around 3.42 who ran up... horse and guard know their job an alert... love em... love how horses telling people to back of from their space... i feel like that too... respect to all
If they don't stop this foolishness someone is going to get seriously hurt. These groups that visit and act like they have never been around animals and other people need a good talking to. I don't buy the language barrier crap because they understood enough to make the trip. Judging from the part of the world they come from you would be ticketed, fined and or jailed for this outrageous behavior. The majority of the offenders are adults. Shameful! 😮
