EA & DICE literally took the things that made battlefield great and flushed it down the toilet or completely downgraded them. I really don’t understand how they could call this game a “love letter to its fans” when the game feels nothing like battlefield. This game is such a smack in the face to hardcore battlefield players and it’s core audience it’s unbelievable.

The biggest missing “feature” that no one talks about is BFs music… one of the best parts abt BF1 was its music and for 2042 we get what sounds like two plates scraping together

As far as I'm concerned it's barely even Battlefield anymore. There is no point in defending something that is becoming so far removed from what made it good in the first place. I'm sure all the people that made the better BF games left long ago and the new people working there now have no clue what they are doing.

This is why you don't pre-order games before launch. You see results and get special deals. Your choice, your problem.

I still can't understand how DICE and EA may have ruined their reputation spontaneously, with this game. They also hyped a lot the entire community, also knowing the real development status of the game.

The thing that upsets me the most about this is that they cancelled support for both BFV AND Battlefront II to work on this dumpster fire of a game. Both of those games now have a much higher player count.

I’m still playing Battlefield 1 and having a blast, there are no problems with finding a full server provided you have correct filter settings. I encourage everyone to do so while there is still a considerable amount of players so you can enjoy the multiplayer experience of the best Battlefield to date.

I dont think 2042 is gonna be for me, they put a lot of work into the specialist, so i dont think they're gonna drop it for classic classes.

Remember back in BF1, the main criticisms were some weapon balance issues, and that announcer voice? Those were the days...

Imo the biggest joke in 2042 is that it was shown as this dark and very unhappy place but then devs/publisher went "Lets make this fortnnitefield cos that what kids loooove!"

On bfV and Bf1 the take down with melé were more more better, they used diferent killing animations depending how the enemy was standing or siting or laying down, bf2042 made me really sad seen this crap animations

I was so happy to get it for christmas, today i played it for the first time... quit after 30 mins

For me removing the first person melee executions was a slap in the face. It made it feel gritty and personal when you got up close and person with an execution. Now we have these poor examples where apparently we are helping the enemy up before we execute them and doing it In third person 😩😩😩

battlefield 1 has ultimately become my favorite battlefield of all time. Don't get me wrong i was there for all the classics, but I have to admit it. Battlefield 1 is the most fun.

Went back to BFV on Playstation a week ago. A lot of active FULL servers. I was also harsh on BFV but went back after BF2042 was a let down (I hope it gets better.) They could've just reskinned BFV with modern weapons/camo & that would've been better than what we got.

Every Dev and Designer should have to play one full week of each previous BF title before they get to start designing/programming so they understand where the franchise came from and what made it great.

5:12 I really liked the dog tag system in BF4 and BF3 and hoped it would make a comeback. Whenever I saw a guy who was not facing me or prone I would usually run up and knife him to see if I could get new dog tags or to just get the satisfaction. Now Dice creates these generic dog tags and makes it to where I don’t even want to try and melee a dude to get them because I know its a waste of time. I also hoped they would bring the knife (quick-time events I guess?) back where if a guy ran up on you and tried to kill you with a knife you could counter attack and kill him but now you just have to run up behind somebody and get a kill with no effort whatsoever

This was absolutely hilarious and yeah I’m laughing at myself too because I pre ordered it for $120. This won’t happen again EA I don’t care how much trailers and gameplay you show us, I will wait for launch day and watch other people play it first.

6:18 i really miss different animations for different positions. Also executions in BFV felt smoother and more responsive. You could see them from different perspectives, they were shorter and happened immediately. Now you need to wait sometimes even a second for the game to just change the camera position of only two players and do the animation. I don't mind third person, I just want them to work properly. About that prone thing, I have a simple solution. If the animation takes standing player down to ground, and that player is prone, don't pick him up from the ground, just cut the first part of the animation when he's standing so it starts "after takedown"

The community has been warning the playerbase since BF4 to not pre-order games, sends the wrong message and the games at launch are barely playable. When the trailer came out, people gave out the same warning, you chose to ignore it, you preordered, now deal with it

The 5:42 image is the Windows XP default desktop,you were right. The newer Windows versions had very different desktops,Windows 10 and 11 to be correct.

I was told the military advisor for DICE, that developed the 2042 maps, was an Iraqi solider that fought during Desert Storm. He said the maps were designed based on his experiences. Wide open battlefields, and being decimated by air and land vehicles.

This endless cycle of Battlefield releases it's the perfect definition of insanity.

The lead developer worked on candy crush before 2042, an insider claimed they copied call of duty vanguard design cuz it "was a great success" with micro transactions, and that same developer quit after launch and went to another company. In essence, battlefield franchise was hijacked, kidnapped, beaten, robbed, and left at the side of the road to die. I was made by ppl who never made a battlefield game before or even played one. A legend really, one of the great game grifts of all time.

He looked as of he bathed in the insides of his enemies, parts of bones, guts and what looked like bits of brains were splattered all over him. But that wasn't the worst. The worst was that smile on his face. He did not look happy to see us, to be finally safe after all he went through. No, he seemed like he enjoyed every moment of it. We were staring at our comrade, no one dared to make any kind of noise, almost as if something horrible would happen if we did. Angel was the one who broke the silence. "Yeah, Angel does it again!" He spoke in a cheerful tone. "That's was something, right?" None of us responded. He's resting in the living quarters now, I can't bring myself to sleep. I feel Angel hasn't really returned from that camp.

Literally all they had to do was copy and paste the formula they already had. Maybe tweak a few things here and there, update the graphics add a few new features. But none of 2042 actually feels like a BF game.

The price drop is something that happens to a lot of games if they’re trash at launch. They’re trying to recoup some of their initial expected sales by convincing people who were previously on the fence. Fallout 76 dropped to like $30 like 2 weeks after it released. At one point, it started just being included for free if you bought something at some sellers (funny enough a lot of people still didn’t want it)

0:46 Its not the classic cycle. Its that all these studios manage to get progressively worst then what they use to put out years ago. After Battlefield 2042 they are going full on specialists & Battle Royal.

I can see potential with the game mechanics and can see myself enjoying it, my main problems are 1: it doesn't feel like a battlefield game, and isn't as good as the past ones 2: getting into any match as a new player is just a curb stomping simulator, getting murdered instantly by people with higher level weapons and attachments

Honestly, the person who pre ordered for $100 deserved it. I can’t even feel bad if you didn’t even look at the writing on the walls before launch. A delay, not seeing any gameplay till a month before launch, a dumpster fire of a “beta” a month before launch. Don’t get swindled by a trailer showing you the smoke and mirrors.

Older games had user created dogtags, and the variety was amazing on the whole. If I saw one which was notoriously difficult to get (or searched it up afterwards because they looked cool and distinct), then respect to that player. Some were included with DLCs and so on, but all the really rare ones *had* to be earned. This makes them infinitely cooler than a whole matching character/gun skin set which you can just buy. Get outta here with that shit.
