Of course we know what happens next, no surprise! I watched it thinking about where Jesus was going and how He will suffer for us. I was saddened 😢. I never thought about the ending being a cliff hanger. That wasn’t important.
I checked the S4 finale like a hundred times for the supposed flop in the ending scene and for the life of me I couldn’t find any mistake at all. What am I looking for exactly and at what time??
I was background extra in Utah for season 5. Just wait! This was not a flop... Season 5, Holy Week, will be epic. We all know Scripture, but to see it come to life, be a part of it, and feel blessed to help bring this to life was amazing!!
@TheBenmceachen my lips are sealed. We signed NDA's... although if you watch behind the scenes from the director and producers, you'll get an idea. Read the Scripture for Holy Week...😉...it's in The Book!
Dallas Jenkins stated that season five will be all about Holy Week (ending with Jesus' arrest I would think), season 6 will be about the last hours of Jesus’ life, which is to say His trial, sentencing, crucifixion and death all the while following the apostles, and season 7 will be about His resurrection and the 40 days He spends with His apostles afterwards.
Thanks for this summary. I hadn't noticed that breakdown before and I love the idea of increasingly honing in on, and spending more time in Jesus' final week. That's a great way to acknowledge how the gospels devote so many words on the final week of Jesus' earthly life. So much is packed into that one week, it is super to know it is getting such detailed treatment
Not a flop at all! Season 4 finale was probably one of the most suspenseful, specifically because we know what's coming. This entry into Jerusalem means that Jesus arrest and death is going to happen in a week, and you could see the weight of that on Jesus' face. It's also extremely satisfying because they showed how it's a fulfillment of prophecy. It's a similar vibe as the end of season 2 where we get a hint of the Sermon on the Mount, but have to wait for season 3 to see it; and with season 1 ending with them leaving for Samaria, but we don't see the woman at the well story until season 2.
Oh, yeah. You are right! Sermon on the Mount did not show up until the start of Season 3. That's a great link between this finale and what we previously have seen on The Chosen.
I usually agree with Laura, but not this time. I loved all of Season 4 and especially how they ended it. Jesus beginning His ride to enter the eastern Gate! I loved it. Sure gives us a lot to look forward to in Season 5. I had two favorite quotes from Season 4. The first is Lazarus telling Jesus, “They were just words on a scroll, but now they are about you.” The second is, “Goodbye, Chuza.” Fantastic!!
Hope you enjoyed our shout out to your earlier endorsements of Laura... and it is pretty cool to note here, though, that I finally got it right. Hardy har
I agree that it was a great way to end.... There is going to be so much in the upcoming season, just as there was SO MUCH going on in Season 4. Anything else would have been too much....
Laura I agree that it was non climatic, but I found Season2 ep 8 non climactic too. I feel like we are slow walking to Jerusalem and the build up to crucifixion in Season 6. Season 5 is all holy week, 6 is crucifixion and resurrection, 7 is beginning of Acts.
Seems I missed the helpful memo about how Dallas Jenkins and co will approach the next few seasons. Glad you all are here to fill in our (multitudinous) gaps. And Kimberly, how has it impacted you to encounter a few "non-climaxes" along this slow-walking journey?
Totally. You are so right. Hence the "?" and Laura going on to explain how her disappointment at the conclusion (in particular) didn't sully her experience of the entire episode. I also tried hard to fight the good fight with "Come on, Laura! This episode was great!"
