Well to be fair it was fairly easy back then to have a unique sound when there were like 10 bands, it's really mostly thanks to them just being the first to do any of it. Nowadays there's 50 000 black metal bands on metal archives, it's hard to find a truly original and unique sound in such a sea of competition.
@@mach2223 Yes, that's a valid point. 90s were the decade where the basic metal branches that evolved in the 80s were developing at the most rapid pace into tons of subgenres and their fusions. Good times...
@@jeffreyyoung4714 yeah? give me some recommendations for some good inspired meloblack like this instead of the boring droney stuff everyones doing these days. please?
In my books, this is by far the best Metal Album there is and ever will be. Nothing came even close to this Masterpiece! Everything about this Album is pure perfection!
I listen to Storm Of The Light's Bane since it was released in 1995. It's still my favorite album. Dissection, above all Jon, was such a revolutionary Band.
my favorite album of all time. i remember the first times i listened to it around 10 years ago, i couldn't get the riffs and melodies out of my head for WEEKS. nowadays i still feel a longing from time to time to listen to it, and i never get bored of it
@@nupraptorthementalist3306 It's the songwriting that makes them standout. A lot of bands can play their instruments extremely well but have trouble writing a memorable tune.
@@aggelosmanolis5689 Even me comparing this to Opeth's albums. The emotion response levels are night and day difference. Don't get me wrong obviously both hit, but this album is as complete as you get.
This is unique holy piece of art. Never will be remake or reproduce by noboby.None band today, could be able to reproduced these songs on stage to live. Because it,was not made to turn into copy. Like a amulet of the extrem music.
As I return home to the almighty realm of Heavy Metal, and explore every subgenre imaginable and dissect them for all their worth? Black Metal, with demonic speed, is rapidly becoming my favorite, especially with the discovery of albums (and bands) such as this one. I'm stupefied at how remarkable this album is. It might be the finest Black Metal album I've ever heard (thus far). The craftsmanship and utter creativity that constantly erupts through this volcano of an album? FLAWLESS. My god: Metal fans have been eating good for over half a century now. DAMN it feels good to be back home! 🤘🏻
As a hip hop listener who used to think rap's the best genre of music ever made lol. Metal genre proved me wrong!! Musicality , lyrics , structure , melody!! I transitioned into metal because I got bored and had to listen to something else. Now it has been time since I have taken a taste into metal. But , when I discovered this album. It blew me away!! Seriously a 10/10.
As a metal listener who used to think metal`s the best genre of music ever made..I must must confess, that there s a lot of brutal, fucking good rap outside! But, well..I m of your opinion "Musicality , lyrics , structure , melody!!" Love Dissection! Absoluter Wahnsinn, killt mich einfach jedes Mal immer noch! :D
Yeah there are many great rappers that metalheads might find interesting. For example - Necro He is a Rapper who is also a metalhead and have sampled many metal songs in his music and have worked with 'Obituary' , Hatebreed's Jasta.@@galaadgilead2319
@@ahklys1321 You are most definitely in the wrong place if you think otherwise. I respect your right to your opinion, but I must point out that here your stance is of the exception.
@@ahklys1321 In this case, it is. I would definitely argue it should be in the top 100 metal albums ever made. Not top 10. But if you're in the top 100 that would be best of all time. Metal Storm has it listed at #18 in top 200 metal albums of all time. Another has it at #85. Yeah, people say this sort of thing on many metal songs but this ones different.
i am just getting into black metal and for now im absolutely in love with symphonic black metal. i just found this album and i know it will be great when the intro is fire
While not a drummer myself, I dappled (dabbled?) a bit back in the day. Mainly air drumming and abusing whatever I could get a hold of 😁 When I got this album, I thought Ole's drumming was insane. Perhaps not tight as such in the usual, clinical sense, I guess, but I paid no heed to strict performances. I had no need to compare Ole's drums to anyone else's, because it fit so well on every track on present album. Some might argue that the guitars deserve all the credit, but honestly, I do love how Öhman contributed.
Sadly jhon sang for the obscure darkned satanic way of life and took him away early. Wish he didnt take it too seriously the say he did and died in vein for a crature with horns evil but if he didnt we didnt see such a masterpiece like this . Absolutely incredible to someon crating such a level of guitars works and vocals too. Im from morroco and i was like almost satanist but now im near to god but jhon still be the real beast magestic musician person that gave his life and soul to die for it. Rest in chaos and peace jhon. 🤘🤘🤘🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
This is one of those rare few albums that I'm often reluctant to listen to because it's somehow "too good." It's hard to explain, but if you know, you know I guess.
Fucking love this band but just wondering something. It’s easy to tell the difference btw black metal and death metal if you compare an atmospheric BM band like Burzum to a progressive DM band like Death. But with Dissection, are they just half BM, half DM? I hear a lot of tremolo black metal riffs here but also a lot of more chunky death metal riffs
I JUST started listening to it a few minutes ago! Preparing to make some hot and spicy craft dinner with tuna and lime juice! MIAM! HARDCORE AS FUCK! Will continue listening. Skål! 🍻 Southern Québec, Canada here! What country is this band from? 🤔😎🤘🏻🇨🇦🥰🤗💖 FOUND IT! Extreme black metal band from Sweden! 😎🤘🏻 OKAY, SO...It's been over fifteen minutes now and...NOT BAD! 🤔 Might consider buying this album! It sounds okay. 😎🤘🏻 Had to go out on the balcony in the cold with ONLY My short-sleeve nightshirt on to black metal pose on the balcony just for fun. Kraft Dinner SHOULD be ready now! DAMN, THAT KRAFT DINNER'S GOOD! This ISN'T your mommy's KD, son! The way I make is uses LOTS of lime juice AND crushed red pepper flakes. Mmm, so good! YES, DEFINITELY GOING TO BUY THIS ALBUM!
