Dissertation to Original Research Paper - A journey towards quality and standard in research. 

This video depicts the journey of innovations in the research component of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. This journey started with the review of literature initially. Then, proper prospective study with approval of the synopsis was adopted. The research evaluation unit at CPSP HQ Karachi was strengthened three decades ago and then the unit extended to the regional centers for facilitation of post graduate residents. The concept of the original research paper was floated a decade ago parallel to the dissertation. Now finally, CPSP is adopting the way forward for only the original research paper. On the basis of research contributions by post graduate residents and fellows, the cpsp journal i.e JCPSP attained the impact factor 15 years ago and has been maintaining its position among the top three impact factor medical journals. In future, the institution is also considering a separate journal for post graduate residents. In this video, besides the journey of research in CPSP, the quality assurance and standardization has been highlighted. While evaluating the candidate, the research part and audit components will be the part of TOACS stations . CPSP believes in Excellence in the Higher Medical Education and Quality Research.
