if you do something like this again I reccomend the Honey method. there's a story that these monks would be entombed in honey. I forget what this method was called but basically the honey did something to the body and it ended up creating a honey mummy. (not part of the suggestion) but basically afterwards these honey mummy monks would become a religious delicacy that was eaten.
I heard about that. There's a method of self mummyfication by eating certain things and then not eating at all. They did it in China or Japan, I'm not sure.

I think the fact the mice was frozen likely contributed to the early failure. Once frozen the tissue is basically destroyed. Thawed out they basically liquify. Liquid surrounded by fur.
Yes, exactly. It was destined to fail right from the start, but I was to invested into the execution of the idea, that I overlooked that completely. The wall cells were already compromised when they froze. I'll stay curious, but more cautious.
