Simple technique of preserving decorating and antiquing wood. Artificially aged wood will give your project that unique rustic look and make it more appealing.
Perfect video. No senseless forward about what the video is going to be about - just jump right in and explain along the way. Short and sweet and VERY informative. Many thanks!
Thank you. I used almost the same technique to make end tables and a coffee table out of hatches from a WW II Victory Ship complete with hardware, Steel bands and indented grab holds .
I have done this on oak but found that burning the wood first then light sanding with 220 grit accentuates the grain then stained and poly ! Did all the trim in my bathroom this way! Nice work
Fantastic distressing job! I'm going to give your technique a try, but I'm not sure what you mean by using a "software brushes". There's a lot of similar looking "knot" wire wheels on Amazon. Is .020 steel wire considered soft or hard? Thanks for the video!
It becomes grey and even black, depending on the oak. I just did this experiment myself, in a more aggressive fashion than shown here, without the need to burn the wood. I chose a coffee infused olive oil as my coating of choice as it was a pleasing brown, rather than a near ebony.
