From now on, officially, the team name for athletics and other uses in the New Castle Area School District will be Red Hurricanes, not the Red Hurricane. The school board at its regular meeting Tuesday adopted a resolution by a 6 to 2 vote, officially making the team name plural with the ‘S’ at the end.
The board's action adopted the moniker, designation and nickname of "Red Hurricanes" to identify district extracurricular activities, sports teams, facilities, media and at all other times occasions and matters where the term is necessary and appropriate.
