whoa, this is the best 'metal' band (whatever you want to classify them as) i've ever heard. Their right there with Trapt as the best live bands out there today. If they could just turn up the output on the vocal's mic, it the sound balance would be perfect.
i give any props to any rock star singer..I mean come on they got to scream and shout and then try to control their voices back down then all over the place for years..its never going to sound the same..
i have heard from alot of my friends that at most of Disturbeds live showings that David lips sings and the entire band is all recorded before the show starts...i also have a friend who is a stage director who has also said the same thing...i used to be a big fan of Disturbed myself but not anymore...
I've seen them live twice, usually it takes him a few songs to warm up. You have to remember Disturbed calls for very powerful vocals, give the dude a break.
Probably one of my favorite live bands, ever, with my favorite drummer ever. He's really a talented drummer. Before all the flame starts with "Joey Jordison will pwn that n00b ass!"; Disturbeds drummer isn't all about speed and show.
Whenever i hear that guitar solo, i always get an adrenaline rush. Then when it ends it makes me wanna start a mosh-pit in my living room!! Disturbed Rocks So HARD!!!
That laugh...."Satan's Giggle" if you will...unleashes that inner power that only exists within the aura of the darkest subjects in rock to create a world of plight that begins a treacherous and fulfilling journey to come... I'm gonna jump in the shower now.
@DaggersDen i think the actual singing isnt bad i think the reaosn alot of people have problems with it is cause its different then the albums, ive been to a disturbed concert and im going to my second one in august and dont let the singing put u down, Disturbed throws an amazing concert
no one sounds exactly like their albums. this is how the song actually sounds. studios improve sound and touch up details to improve the song, eventhough it may not need to be done. the song is only its true self when live.
To start with it's "lip sync" not "lip sing" lol and Disturbed definatly play their instruments live. They do play along with a sequencer that does all the keyboard sounds and stuff but so do alot of bands. Playing along with a sequencer is a very difficult thing to do because the live instruments(guitar, bass, drums and vocals) have to keep perfectly in time with it so it sounds good. Playing along with a sequence takes nothing away from musicianship.
i agree, i feel fuzz fit when they were nu-metal. i.e. The Sickness album. after that they shifted to a hard rock genre and thats what Johns essence is.
@krfimc I like David's (ouch, just heard Dan hit a few sour notes) voice, but my favorite male vocalist ever is still Steve Perry. Totally different kinds of music, I know. But David's definitely excellent live.
Wha??? I saw them Live before and after his surgery and he is WAY better singing now than he was before. He can actually hit the high notes live now whereas before he really struggled. He still has problems doing his less melodic singing though (the vocals he uses for the verses of this song). He tends to break into his more melodic voice when he tires. Regardless, this band is amazing live and freakin awesome all around/
@DaggersDen well i think his voice improved after the surgery, type this in and u`ll get a good example Disturbed Inside the fire Live Rockstar Mayhem Festival fest Detroit DTE
@DaggersDen They used to have good live. David messed up his vocal cords. He had surgery a few years ago so he could still sing on stage. He still does a lot of songs well.
TheNerdyGinger you messed up when you are born! :) And btw I have seen your post while listenin Disturbed! If you don't like it move on for God sake...Easy right? ofc.
As much as I love Disturbed, Dave needs to work on his vocals for live shows. There is nothing wrong with it but its not that same energy or feel as i get when I listen to the album. All in all its fine. Love me some Disturbed
