I was a young woman when Simon and Garfunkel released this song, and I found it very powerful then. Now I'm 77 and this version is even more moving and more prophetic. Timeless.

I know exactly what you mean. I am also now 73 and I cried when I heard the power of these words again, but even more meaningful in these sad, lonely, corrupt and "silent" days...... But what a powerful rendition is this? Even better than the original.
Simon and Garfunkel must be so proud of how David not just covered this legendary song but sang it with such expression and perfection honestly I don't believe anyone could have done it better!
I heard this as an evolving teen upon its first play and now half a century later this rendition stirs me to my core. I only pray the generations between its first release and today 2023 are stirred to understand it’s message and talk to each other instead of masking their thought with a cloak of silence. Disturbed has a perfect titled to sing this with such an emotion!

I love this version of the song. His voice is so powerful. A lot of people don't know that he is actually a classically trained singer. I listen to this version of the song over and over. So emotional and powerful.

When an intelligent person is faced with crisis, and considering their options, it is an out, a logical response to the absurdity we live in. 18 is so tender, and so packed with change, which is the clinical definition of stress, and yet so little understanding of life outside of their own block. I never heard this version until my oldest son turned me on to it last year. Now, sadly, no, devastatingly, my son passed away 3 months ago. if you haven't heard the original, you should check it out. If for no other reason than to see what it started as. Being that this is the version you heard first, I would guess that the original would seem rather quiet and passive to you now. But hearing the original gives you that much more appreciation for the power and emotion that David Draiman expresses in this version. I liked the original version fine, but the first time I heard this version I was awed by how powerful it is. TL;DR if you have to choose one, this is definitely the one to choose, but you should listen to the original if you have the opportunity
You should add as it always was when Paul Simon first wrote it and performed it with his friend Art Garfunkel. Although this cover captures the angst of the original for a modern audience it adds nothing to the original performance.
At age 43 and a avid music follower with a taste for metal grunge , rock. it doesn't happen often you come across a song that... that stirred up deep emotions. so beautifully sang I felt every word. He told the story so well. This one trumps the original. Which is to sweet for the message told.
I think people who are not really into this type of music would still be moved by the power of this performance, goose pimples and tears every time, bravo disturbed

Sorry, Art & Paul, but U've been usurped...this is the most powerful, goosebumpN, tearjerkN renderN of one of the best & most Bloved protest era songs that Art & Paul(or anyone else of the '60's) ever penned. Disturbed hit a BIG bull's-eye with this dauntN, chillN & strong modern version of the song & I suspect that Art & Paul MUST B touched, moved, & proud of the justice U've done 4 their classic composition! ive heard many renditions of songs , but this really is remarkable, a mix of a golden oldie done in tones of metal with a mix of orchestra , truly amazing.

This song has been my favorite since the original came out in 1964....(yes I'm old...lol) but THIS...THIS is how I always envisioned the lyrics SHOULD be sung and the music played. I don't want to take away from Simon & Garfunkel in any way...but the lyrics just evoke the sadness and reverence that Disturbed has honored it with....THIS IS A MASTERPIECE. Thank you, Disturbed. I still think that this is the most incredible version of this song. I remember the first time I heard it during lock down. Some of the videos were so compelling that it was scary. It still sounds that good today, I think it will live on as long as the world keeps on its current path into darkness
This is my favorite rendition of this song. It reaches something very primal inside me. Pink Floyd lyrics are still very relevant today, too. Ahead of their time.

I love his powerful voice. When he starts hitting those deep metal-like notes, I think on my dad who passed away (he was a huge fan of Disturbed and this cover of the song), and it even makes me tear up. Such a great cover song. They really made it their own thing.
Done in a metal style at all. Almost seems to be done almost as a country ballad type of delivery. I wonder how many people actually understand it. We do live in the time of the wisdom seekers, but so few seem to be actually interested in seeking wisdom.

This is one of my fav songs from S and G but the version overwhelmed my body. I mean I got goose bumps all over, my heart rate increased and my tummy flipped all at the same time. I’m replaying to get that hit again! Glorious. Thank you.
I'm in my 30's and I love rock but did not know about this. An older man in his 60s told me about this. I am blown away. All generations can share with each other and enjoy music from all genres and come together.
