Hello friends! Have you used things from around the house, or maybe something that would normally be thrown away in your crafting? I would LOVE to know!
I retired after teaching elementary art for 33 years. I frequently added cornstarch to tempera paint so the kids could have an impasto experience with palette knives. After decades, the paint is still good on the substrates!
Hello Lindsay! I appreciate you watching and commenting. I agree. Anything can be an art supply. The possibilities are endless! What is your non crafty item to use? Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting!
I loved the butterfly, and I agree with you about Prima's wonderful packaging. I use drywall tape and joint tape (adhesive tape with small punched circles) as stencils in my projects--the drywall tape is a favorite of mine for the grid pattern it leaves when stenciled. Glass jar bottoms are fun to ink and transfer, too.
I HEARD THAT....lol. LOVE what you did here chickie! Dry wall tape is my total go to. I think I use it every day - LITERALLY. It's my favorite stencil. I never would have thought of cornstarch. This was so much fun, let's definitely do this again! 😘😘🎨
@@Tiffany.Solorio I have used bubble wrap, corrugated cardboard, magazines, different sizes of bottles or lids to make circles, tissue paper that I have stamped on, and junk mail.
Great video, Tiffany. I have also used glad wrap, bubble wrap, tea leaves and the bags, sand, sticks and lots of other natural things in my crafting. Love your page. ❤️❤️❤️
Even with basic products, you can tear it up. I love this kind of video that allows you to test your creativity. You passed the challenge with flying colors 💕✨👩🏻🎨🙌🏼💙
Tiffany, I love your journal page!!! Great collaboration too! Corn starch is soooooo stinkin' versatile. I also use it for anti-magnetic powder for embossing and shaker cards! I haven't used dry wall paste so I'll add that to my list...love that texture! I've been collecting too long and it's time to get busy and use some of it in crafting art journal pages! Great video :)
Extremely informative! Great video. I have some acrylic paints that are very weak, and now I know how to thicken them up. Thank you for a very educating video. :)
Hi Tiffany, I'm a fan of Keren's, and I LOVE art and recycling! Very much enjoyed your post in the collab. I haven't yet tried art-ing with drywall tape, but I have painted on tarpaper/black roofing paper, thanks to a mentor at my former gallery. They had rolls of it leftover from hurricane recovery construction on multiple sites, played with it, liked the results and offered some to the rest of the group. We had a blast! So I love new use for drywall tape. Just have to get my hands on some. Subscribed, liked and clicked notifications. Now I'm off to Ingrid's video! Happy holidays and lotsa love from Louisiana!
Interesting how you thickened one paint and thinned another! Love all the yummy texture here! Since my brother died, my sister and I have been going through all of his things (he lived with her) and since he was a painter, I have found several spools of drywall tape and many brushes I can alter! Have seen so many videos using these and they look so cool! BTW....I noticed your butterfly has no antennae 😂😂. TYFS ❤️🦋💜
@@Tiffany.Solorio yes, I’m a card maker. I’ve tried to do some scrapbooking but I found I really only have time to focus on one thing (for now). However, I still like to watch people create journal and scrapbook pages.
Wow! I just discovered your channel. You are very talented! I love the Joggles journals also. I will definitely be subscribing to your channel. Have a great day and thank you for sharing your inspiration.
I love how you're page turned out. I never thought of using Corn starch, I have used baking soda, as well as spackle. I started using spackle years ago, because it was so much cheaper than craft snow working On holiday stuff with my daughters brownie troop. I also love Prussian blue, but so you know, it's pronounced like Russian. Thanks for the page ideas!
Hello!! Welcome to my channel! I hope you find other content to enjoy. Do you use things found around the house or in nature in your art Thank you for being here!
@@Tiffany.Solorio Yes, I do love creating with non traditional craft items. I have some small and soft pine branches here ready for me to create something marvelous! I have spent enough money on supplies it’s time to play and DIY anything I don’t have.
