diverse discographies: the genres of nct 

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT!!! 1) sticker, and most of the other experimental hip hop tracks included, are experimental while being mixed with another genre such as pop rap. i personally do not include pop rap (along with dance-pop) in my genre identifcations because those two genres are practically the foundation of most kpop songs and i think it'd be pretty boring to see those two genres listed for EVERY SINGLE SONG. this rule of thumb applies to every genre video i have made, so if you've seen a genre identification and thought "__ doesn't sound like real [insert genre here]" theres a 95% chance that's probably why! 2) i was kinda inconsistent with which live clips i did, and didn't include. the general rule of thumb was that i only included one or two performance clips and everything else was either taken from the smtown or respective unit's youtube channels. 3) there is full possibility that i have missed some songs, either in the masterdoc (linked in the description) or in the video! if i have, please let me know via my curiouscat, which is linked on my channel page. thank you all for watching and supporting me, i really appreciate the support i've been given and feel free to let me know what group/s you would like to see next on this series!

not just as kpop artists but as just artists nct have really pulled throught alot of experimental sounds which i never imagined would sound good, its special to them and no one other than them can pull it off they're untouchable in their own ways.

imagine not stanning nct, i can't imagine a life without them

let's agree, nct have an awesome discography not just of a k-pop artist, but of an artist in general, not sticking to one genre and always creating a variety of colors. this is why i love nct and their music cause the possibilities are endless

contemporary r&b + trap is so the essence of NCT, love all their genres but these 2 are my faves I think

i think the reason why it's so easy to get into nct's music is because they're so diverse, especially with their bsides. it's always fun to find those hidden gems in their discography!

What I've learnt from this video is that all the NCT songs I love are usually alternative r&b, contemporary r&b, trap, neo soul, ratchet music & electropop.

it pisses me tf awf when i recommend nct to my friends and they say they wouldnt want to listen to pots and pans.. well yes they make that music (and excellently at that) BUT CMON NOW. theres music for every mood every feeling everyone in ncity

I love how they use contemporary RnB, ectectro-pop, experimental hip-hop, trap (edm) and trap (hip-hop). To me they have one of the best discographies of 3rd gen kpop boy-groups. TYSM for making this video ^_^.

I HAVE SO MUCH THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THIS VIDEO OH MY GOD first of all, i’ve been looking here for very comprehensive videos about nct discography because i’m literally biased and somehow most k-tubers have repeatedly included certain nct songs only when there are a lot more that nct can offer so i just love how you’ve managed to bare every song in their entire discography! second is that i do know my cup of tea in songs but i’m very bad at differentiating genres (but also validating myself because a song most likely wouldn’t be limited to just one genre) so actually nct has proven that even a trap song (i used to hate trap beats) would be so lovely to listen to! but obviously i am a very big fan of r&b since then, i just didn’t know how wide their r&b set was since my nct r&b only included a bunch of songs! lastly, props to your transitions??? like it’s so smooth and satisfying like you really made me feel excited every time the year shows and the instrumental slowly fades in (especially the 2020 ‘cause god neo zone will never fail to amaze me) the video is just so satisfying to watch honestly so yeah i’ve been really a big fan of nct music and honestly it’s hard for me to listen to other groups nowadays because my ear has been so accustomed to the nct sound, and yet when they release songs i am amazed because they’re so good every single time! so thank you for this wonderful video that perfectly shows how beautiful nct discography is, especially to me that is a very huge fan of their music. thank you!!

Really appreciate all the hard work!! However, I reckon there are a few mistakes (please don’t judge me if I’m wrong🤧): I don’t think Phantom ( 20:46 )is a classical crossover (?) but Try My Luck ( 21:12 ) is definitely a classical crossover (sampled from Mozart’s Requiem Mass in D minor, K.626: Dies irae). That’s Not Fair ( 24:21 ) is also a classical crossover, sampled from J.S. Bach’s Fugue in G minor, BWV 578. Other than that I really appreciate the amount of effort you put into making this video! This is such a great way to promote NCT songs and letting people know not all their songs are that ‘neo’ and unacceptable.

so many of my favorites here are either edm, ballads or r&bs LMFAO

I've been complaining that kpop is starting to either sound the same or its just becoming not that interesting, however NCT is one of those groups that still brings quality music, concepts and different styles that makes it interesting still. Sure, I do prefer the older stuff more than the most recent ones (like b-track wise) but still, every single unit has amazing tracks that deliver! Happy to be nctzen still haha.
