Using law to compel people to mix with whomever they wouldn't choose according to their free will is basically a violation of human rights and actually an evil practice. People should be free to choose whom they want to associate, work, play, love, be friends etc with.

The law doesn't compel people to mix with others and has nothing to do with friends, play or love. The law is about not discriminating based on a characteristic. This video deals with it in more detail ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UcuS5glhNto.html

When talking about diversity and inclusion I think it's worth mentioning that every person can not do every job. For instance, from 1999-2002 I was in the infantry in the US Army. There were other young men from all walks of life and we all worked together to accomplish the mission, but the respect we gave each other wasn't due to our diverse differences, it was due to each others work ethic, efforts, skills, abilities, wit, and character. This is what gave us a competitive advantage - NOT our diversity. If we are in contact with an enemy, I don't care about our differences - honestly. At that moment I care about your ability to think on your feet, I care about your ability to maintain situational awareness, I care about your ability to aim and shoot effectively, I care about your ability to cover me while I move, I care about you're character - that you won't leave me behind, even when the shit hits the fan. I care about your ability to move like greased lightning to be able to avoid getting shot, and gain any strategic advantage over our enemy, I care that you've acquired and maintained superior physical fitness with the ability to pick me up and get me to safety if the situation calls for it. I care that you have paid attention in Combat Lifesavers Course, because I may have to count on you to save my life on e day. I care that you trained hard and seriously during our battle drills. I care that you remember how to call for fire or call in a 9 line. These are the kind of things that combat soldiers care about - not how rich or poor you were, not the amount of melanin in your skin, not what God you pray to, not what genitalia is between your legs, not about your childcare, not about the different food you eat, and not about your sexual proclivities. During work and training it is sometimes just necessary to focus on the task at hand. If we end up having things in common, or share common interests, then we'll probably become friends. If not, we still have the responsibility to get the job done well. If you work hard and it shows I will respect you and help you. If you whine all of the time, are lazy, or incompetent I will tell you about it, and I fully expect you to do the same for me if I start slipping in a particular area. The fact is that individuals from ALL walks of life can be completely amazing or complete dirt bags. What unites us is what we have in common - a job to do to get a paycheck in most cases - the fact that we want to have a safe home, family time, some walking around money, good lives for our kids, an occasional vacation. These ideas are the things that unite us. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! If we focus on a common goal together in a respectful way, then our differences will naturally work themselves out without having to have "training" to do so. You say: "No one should be held back by or defined by their differences." Obviously some physical or mental deficiencies will hold people back from certain positions. This is not mean spirited, just a fact of life. Undoubtedly some people will still be assholes about it though, but they lack character. You say: "Being inclusive is about being respectful to peoples values and sensibilities." I honestly wish this was the case. There are a few groups that claim to be inclusive, but just about everything I hear and see from them is offensive to my values and sensitivities. For instance, Pride parades. They claim to be inclusive, but I don't feel they care on iota about my values and sensibilities. It offends my values and sensitivities for gross displays of public affection (gay or straight or whatever), I'm offended when some of the group dress their young children in obviously sexual attire, and when some in the group expose their own bodies to children with malleable minds in a way that I find is harmful and offensive. It offends me when I turn on the television and there all of that is, for my child to see on cable news; all of the lewd, provocative, and offensive behavior right in the middle of the street for all to witness. That offends me, but they don't seem to care at all. Another group that claims to be inclusive is the Woman's March, but they don't seem to care about being respectful to my values or sensitivities either. Walking around with vagina hats, or carrying pictures of vaginas. Carrying posters with vile and disgusting language and pictures, all of which offend me, but nobody seems to call them out for that or care that I am offended. Maybe you could reach out to these groups and offer them some training? I would appreciate that.
@whatyouneedtoknow
@whatyouneedtoknow 4 года назад
Thank you for your comment. It's certainly our wish that the video will be used for training and we hope it shows that diversity is about all the ways we're different and not, as you point out, just about a few characteristics. We all have abilities/disabilities and I think the point we were making that we shouldn't be held back because of these - although, as you point out, they may limit what we as individuals can do.

Obama did this for 8 years. He demanded "Diversity in ALL jobs" people that clearly weren't qualified or fit for the job now get the highest paying role with zero experience and the company then wonders why they lose a lot of tenure employees or start having quality/financial problems. Ding ding, this fella's video and good ole Barry's agenda.

An extremely succinct posting. Having experienced the military aspect, I agree totally. There is the fact, however, that all the guys in my company had similar training. This may not be the case in the private sector, which can create it's own problems. On the subject of 'pride' parades, women marches, and a host of other factional groups. Many of which I too find offensive, not that they have those views, but because they presume to force those idea's upon me. The results of which cause issues way outside their particular area's - such as comedy, drama, TV entertainment, movies; all of which have now become a festering sore. Few people seem to agree with many of the now forced changes, highlighted by BLM, Antifa, MeToo and others, which the corporate world pandered to in order to avoid being seen as racist, misogynists, or whatever. This in my view has crippled debate of all kinds. Gagged freedom of expression and free speech. Social groups have been isolated to a large extent, because people no longer dare say what they are thinking. To finish, my question is this:- does inclusivity and diversity mean we should be constantly submitting to the lowest members of society?

I just want to say that I came to this video because I'm opposed to the ideas of diversity and inclusion based on what I've seen happening in the world over the last few years (and especially ramped up this past year) and the way these terms are used by political manipulators and globalist technocrats. But, having read through the comments, I'm very impressed with 'What You Need To Know's even handed, un-hysterical and exceedingly polite replies to what are often hostile (perhaps not unwarranted, in most cases) comments on his video. Well done, him. That said, the fact that we've entered an age where businesses are being forced to change the makeup of their leadership and workforce to include people chosen strictly for their immutable characteristics and to the direct detriment of another people chosen for their immutable characteristics and that all forecasts for the future promise much more of this with increasing penalties for non-compliance should make us all wary of how these and other oft-repeated, cheerful sounding words are used to mask truly terrifying agendas by the powers that be.

When I worked as an engineer at GE, we were in a hiring phase and the VP of Engineering called me in his office and said if Ben is a 9/10 and Harold a 6/10, we need to hire Harold. Harold is black. Harold worked out well for the couple years he stayed at GE, but we made a decision based on skin color and not on merit, work experience, etc. That is racism. In this instance, diversity mandated by GE executives was racist against the white guy who also applied for the job. This is a practice done by large corporations.

This video said things that everyone, at face value, will agree with. Of course, having a larger pool of candidates that are considered regardless of any racial, gender, or ability status, among others is an overall benefit for everyone. But just like with everything, an overemphasis on diversity can - albeit unintentionally - make an environment worse. I’m a woman in STEM at a public undergraduate research university. When I entered this program, this messaging of “we welcome women in this program!!!!” was over-the-top to the point that it made me (and other women) uncomfortable. I just want to conduct physics research. The emphasis on wanting to both attract women to STEM and retain women in these departments made me feel like I was a project, or worse yet, that I had been accepted to this select program because I happen to be a woman, and not because of my achievements and academics. At times, the department talks more about how to best get more women and minorities in STEM than actual physics. I can’t help but feel like the extent to which this is discussed is sometimes a time waster. I know that most professors and faculty I talk to feel similarly, but no one wants to make a scene or cause tension with those that are outspoken about these issues, so no one says anything. Does that make sense? I just feel (ironically, I know) very condescended to because of this emphasis.

If the money and power brokers of the world start talking about delivering justice or righting historical wrongs it's time to head for the hills.

KSA or DIE. If you’re a government worker or a veteran that has applied for a government job your qualifications are based upon KSA = Knowledge, Skills, Ability. DIE = Diversity, Inclusion, Equity (Equity is not the same as Equality) does nothing to prove an individual’s Knowledge, Skills and Ability to do the job. If a company feels compelled to add a DIE hiring manager or change their company logo to rainbow colors to pander to the LGBTQ group or DIE group, it’s perceived as patronizing and thus that company may have had prior discriminatory hiring practices. Bottom line…any public or private company that discriminates against a person’s race, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, economic status, veteran status or disability is in violation of State and Federal employment laws. KSA or DIE. Teach your children well.

Diversity is never without differences. Look at our senses, for example, such as seeing or hearing. They are always diverse. But the D&I propagandists should drop the term "inclusion" and substitute "unity." Without unity diversity sinks into tribalist groups. The interactions of these diverse groups can easily become hostile since they lack an overarching unity. Religion and/or nationalism are what act on diverse groups to unify them while still allowing for differences. With unity diverse groups harmonize and cooperate. With just D&I there is an ongoing struggle for power. A tribalistic ethos develops. It is a giant step backwards into tribalism: all tribes against all tribes.

In the United States "Diversity and Inclusion Training" is anything but this. It's extremely hostile toward Anglos (or anyone deemed "white" by the Marxist religion) and the sessions are essentially Kafka Traps where you're told, "You're a racist because you're white. It argues that people should be employed based on the colour of their skin, rather than abilities. It’s also quite unfair when you compare the 2001 and pre 2001 census that show a 90% white British ratio. This means that uk citizens of whatever colour should correlate roughly to these figures, however, this is skewed towards BAME. Essentially, is the uk looking to disregard these demographic figures, people who have come through the uk school system and instead skew the workplace to. BAME figures? It’s good for me, aas coming from a biracial family, I get onto any diversity schemes that white British people don’t

@@whatyouneedtoknow my bad, it was a response to a comment earlier down the chain. Good video, but not sure how it works in practice - you can’t actively look for diversity when looking for employees, which is what the video kinda suggests. There are many jobs where someone with. Eurodivergent tendencies would not be skilled - ie customer service. Also, d&i in the uk excessively focussed on someone’s skin colour being important to getting a job, this is especially true in the civil service, where from experience, recruiters are looking for anyone with a non English name to be interviewed and given roles, even if less qualified, or not a uk citizen

Thank you for your comment. "...you can’t actively look for diversity when looking for employees" I hope the video doesn't give this impression, and it starts by looking at all sorts of diversity, The main point in the video, I hope, is that diversity should be about 'all the ways we're different' and people should not be discriminated against for being 'different' - for example in the way you describe above.
@grucru8615
@grucru8615 3 года назад
@@whatyouneedtoknow hmm perhaps, as a business owner, I would just struggle to see any value in appointing the neurodivergent person in my customer services team. I could probably apply this to many of the other examples - I would not hire a non native English speaker on the phones either if it was up against a native speaker. This need to recognise diversity actively puts a label on someone - which I guess feeds into the wider critical race idea of defining people by who they are rather than what they do. When I write a job description, it is to build a team, not a coalition of physical characteristics

'Diversity' - the word - is being used in different ways. As you say often with CRT. Although we talk about inclusion - perhaps a better way of looking at it would be to make sure people aren't excluded because of a personal characteristic - equality of opportunity will lead to a diverse workforce.

You just need to respect and give opportunity to everyone. You don't need to force diversity to fulfill your weird white guilt or to kiss the butt of minorities. Its a little tacky and kind of points to the unstable mindset you have. Regular people let things happen naturally if you just give everyone opportunity.

And a Muslim who doesn't drink alcohol! At my workplace, at Curtin University they had drinking and socialising time in the office so I had to continue to work as all the drinks were alcoholic and I felt not included! I think this is a long road before the concept of a diversity inclusive workplace is achieved!
@GlasPthalocyanine
@GlasPthalocyanine 3 года назад
Alcohol is not illegal. I can't stand being around people who are drunk and most pubs won't serve tea or coffee. Colleagues won't have the option to bring their children and some won't be able to hear conversation when music is playing. It's not very hospitable to choose a venue where some people aren't going to be comfortable. Perhaps you could make that argument?

Thank you for this wonderful and insightful video!! I'm shocked at all the negativity in these comments it's crazy that people think that including a wide variety of people automatically means that they themselves are being excluded it's like saying "other people don't deserve rights because i want rights" and it's just ridiculous and close minded

Hi Catherine L. Here's why. Check this video from Jordan Peterson explaining why it's very divisive. He's one of many intellectuals who can help you understand why the majority of people are against it. And for good reason. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TqcRVmOpIbY.html

I disagree that the idea is problematic. At the moment a lot of people are distorting issues - on both sides. JP's problem with diversity is not with diversity itself but with how it's being used. Many of the things he mentions that should be included are included in our video - it's about all the ways we're different.

The original roots of the word diversity is from the Latin and it means to put aside. To cast aside. Stop trying to trick people into word play changing just so you can manage to push an agenda for your own personal business or organisations. Its disgusting 🤢 tbh and shows a level of manipulative coercion and all who practice this should feel embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. Just think about the direction that will take people, what route they will follow. People with platforms of power shouldn't be propagating this drivvel but rather exposing it for what it is. Word play manipulative behaviour
@whatyouneedtoknow
@whatyouneedtoknow 3 года назад
I don't think many people today think of diverse in its old Latin meaning. Words have no intrinsic meaning. Meaning is negotiated, and this is based on the current meaning of diverse as it's understood today.
