I guess my husband and I created an UN equal playing field for our kids. We chose to homeschool, stay married, make our kids work and pay for their own college; if they were serious in their pursuits, pay some rent as long as they lived with us after highschool (unless in college), and help around the house. Now both of our kids have graduated college and work well paid full time jobs. Neither my husband or I have a college degree. Neither of us came from advantaged families. It's all in teaching self-sufficiency.

Shared or aligned beliefs and values beats diversity every time. Using diversity as a cudgel to enforce intolerance is what I have been watching for the last 10 of my 59 years. Depends on what we're tolerating.

It all comes down to balance, anything taken to its absolute extremes is liable to topple to evil purposes. Order without chaos is oppression, chaos without order is dissolution. Diversity must be balanced with unity.

And in the end, they want us to be equally poor, equally enslaved.

Nick and team, I really appreciate this episode as it directly reflects today’s discussion in my home. My near adult daughter has a gym membership at a well known gym chain that has recently stated their intention of inclusion. I am not very tolerant of the actions taken, nor a big fan of equality in the locker room. Your podcast today directly relates to the issues in my home today. If universities wanted diversity, their DEI depts would be scouring academia to hire conservative professors, who currently make up 5-10% of the faculty on most campuses.

Think Oregon. Our Legislature dropped needed grades to graduate High School. So why would some students work hard to graduate when they know they will without good grades? While other students work hard because it's built in them to do so and feel it's necessary.

If they don't want anyone to have a nationality, and sexuality is fluid (therefore no one actually has a sexuality) and no one is allowed a title ( parent, etc.) then despite what they SAY, they actually want everyone to be the same. People with no identity, become just units. And units can be destroyed with relative impunity.

I understand that you identify as member of the Christian community with a biblical marriage yet in reality you are a responsible member of the BDSM community. Real dei is finding shared core values in unexpected places. Another thing, the trans issue, its a disability try to roll with it. When we were kids it was the downs syndrome kids. It's not a matter of praying harder or what space cadet is yelling into the void. Now i fully understand, i have daughters and trans folk in my local group both juvenal and adult. There's a few that are HARD to tolerate yet it's for the sake of the group that I do for the children. I do understand the opposite side. I do not identify as a combat veteran and enjoy shorts of those finding out how that ends. As a father and husband, i do identify as a tactical nuke and Godzilla is my patronis.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said. The arguments are logical. The reasoning is sound. The problem? The Left doesn't care about reason or logic. I've heard it described like sitting down to play a game: Conservatives sit down, read the rules, and then agree to play by the rules, even if we don't entirely agree with the rules. We look at the game and determine that the best outcome will come from playing the game the right way, that if we follow the rules the outcome will be fair and correct. The Left sits down, ignores the rules, and plays the game according to their own whims. They don't care about the outcome being fair and correct, but instead only care that they win. We will never be able to have a fair outcome to the game if we continue to let the opponent make their own rules while we try to "play fair."

Diversity is good IF it's good. Differing perspectives are good IF they add to thought or capability. If not, it is just more. It's our strength if it objectively makes us stronger.

Tolerance by itself is no virtue. If you tolerate abuse, abuse will continue. If you tolerate garbage, things fester and rot, then disease abounds. Tolerance, for any sane person, has a breaking point, where you must tolerate no more.

If universities really wanted to help certain groups of people they should just: -accept all students based on merit - accept the people from the special groups who just barely didn't make it into a class to accept them in next year -only let them in if they score high enough. This is the only ok way to do it in my eyes. It's still not great, but it's better than just letting them in just because they're black or gay or poor

I noticed how words lost their definitions. Then i noticed how it was used to silence the people who were questioning the definitions. That's what ticks me off the most. People who pretend to want to discuss subjects, but are only interested in spreading their shit and are only interested in "communication" as a means of shutting up those who are against them. Same goes with the "I'm older, so you need to respect me" generation. No, you have to earn respect. It's not worthless label, it's a value. You deserve to be treated with respect, just like everyone else. That is how that value is used. That's how you show that value. To show those around you, what value respect has and its impact. Value is earned, given. Yet, it's not simply "a given".

Context IS Everything! This also applies to the redefining and use of words. There is nothing inherently wrong with equality, diversity or inclusion, but they're are used to shut down communication rather than encourage it. In a conversation yesterday, I pointed out several issues Trump was attacked on, and all the media over-commented on as "proof" he was crazy, but later, it was proven he was right about. I gave examples (which have also been widely reported), to which the response was, "That's just 'anecdotal', it doesn't prove anything". So, I guess anecdotal is the new weapon in the words arsenal.

I'm giving information hoping you can help. Land owners and farmers with crops and or livestock to cease and desist their livelihood and enhancing their life style while making ends meet. This is happening in Oregon.

Guys it's so sad to me that we even have to have these conversations about things that are complete common sense. It's so discouraging.

Die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. I am the bad guy (or I play one on the internet, hard to tell some days). Diversity, "of thought" not this twisted race quota stuff. We used to call them "different perspectives". It's not inherently moral but it can be utilitarian in some situations. Cheaters, it's about how you use them, it's like IT red teaming the test. You use them to find the leaks and the problems with the testing methods. Anything is a tool if you are creative enough. Diversity, the way we define it not the way you understand it. This is a problem with sociology twisting the language instead of making up a field-appropriate term. Equality, "of opportunity" not outcome. Equality, "before the law". Unless you are wealthy. Selective enforcement is weird, without it, we might all be in jail. Imagine if they caught everybody every time a law was broken. Forcing equality of outcome is inherently unjust. We are no longer trying to "level the playing field" we are trying to advantage some people based on the perception they are disadvantaged, and its almost always racist. We can all be equal at the bottom but we cant all be equal at the top. Equality "of ability" is a myth. We can't all be equal and also all be diverse. If we bias assessment we can't accurately determine who needs help or what kind. These people don't seem to understand incentives or consequences. I believe we need cycles on policy. If we make a change and it has an unexpected negative outcome we need to undo the change not slap more changes on top of it. You can't operate effectively in reality by denying it. Inclusion, of everyone but you. Discrimination, but only when it favors us. Its easy to be a sheep when we have a false dichotomy. As soon as there's nuance and complexity people don't want to deal with it.

The planet is diverse, why do countries, or communities have to be? The most crime free and stable countries are Homogenous..

Here's an argument that seals what you are talking about in diversity. The Nazi party was diverse. WTF ??? Dr. Mengele was beyond evil. Schindler was a savior for so many people. The point, which is that the diversity, in this case, covers polar opposites. I just wanted to point out that, as you are discussing, diversity, in this case encapsulates good and evil both extremes included. Love how you are putting this in context.

In my career, I've always held that diversity (assuming relatively equal merit) is almost a necessity... -If- there's a unifying goal to achieve. In a national context, you could replace "unifying goals" with "unifying principles". Problem is that nowadays we see diversity being used to push opposing and divisive principles.

If a cheater (s) is (are) introduced to the class and the teacher is “Uninformed” the condition exists… Is there any cheating? If everyone passes and the teacher is unaware “ONE” cheater helped the “WHOLE CLASS PASS”… Was there an infraction? Does it matter? How would you know?

Nick, look up the Motte and Bailey principal. Specifically as explained by James Lindsay regarding DEI programs. DEI is like a bait and switch but it’s so much more devious and deceitful.

There is a percentage of races, sexes, ages, rich, poor, etc. in society. Does that mean every type of job in society needs to show the same percentage of those people? So sports teams should contain that🎉 percentage of new borns, senior citizens, or whatever? That seems to be where this is going.

What if, we went back to how live was in 1936?

Diversity is not our strength, it is unity around freedom and many different peoples from around the world look to be free and so they come here and make something of themselves... its what the human spirit yearns for.
