What's the difference between preset and global settings?

MAK...please help....😭 I have created a shop page on divi...using side bar on left side and shop module on right side..... I have customized side bar to show product categories. Now if I click on any particular category.... products in that category should be displayed (like any standard website shop page)....but its not working on my page....please guide me....i need help very badly
