Okay I’ll answer you both 👌 and don’t worry we’re on this journey together . When you get paid the dividend you get paid via a chèque that you can cash in with your bank , afterwards it’s up to you if you wish to reinvest it or not . Alternatively your stockbrokers will contact you when the dividend is ready and ask you what it is you want to do with your profits : reinvest or use it It’s totally up to you . But I’d personally encourage you to reinvest it 😇

If you invested k1000 in Cec you’d spend k17,5 as the charge on the transaction and 982,5 on the actual shares. Since the shares cost about k3 : you’d have over 325 shares .

@@eliasmtonga6181 what's the profit from the companies..? You multiply the number of shares by the dividend per share. If you have 100 shares, and the dividend pay k1. Then you'll have a profit of k100. How often do shareholders get paid..? Depends on the company, most on Myluse is annually, other a are semi-annual

The benefit may not lie in investing in an expensive and seemingly unchanging company but if you invested 1000 in Zambia Sugar while it was only k1 in January 2021 by January 2022 you would have made k14500 by selling your shares. Sometimes it comes through holding many stocks and receives dividends other times it’s through selling .

There’s no restriction - it would be wise to put your eggs in different baskets . How profitable it would be just depends on the companies you select to be part of your portfolio .

No, the amount /share that you get is K3 so if you have 100 shares you end up with K3*100=K300.

You got it right : companies in Zambia only afford to pay once while a few pay twice . Bigger stock markets such as the New York Stock Exchange pay you 4x , I’m not sure I’ve come across one that pays you monthly .

Most companies only per once a year- but the payout periods are not necessarily at the end of the year

Minimum investment is k500

You buy and hold as your shares gain in value and also benefit from dividends when they are paid out

You need to have a KYC approved by those countries , it’s easier if you’re currently living there.

Depends on the company and how their business has been in the respective financial yr but most companies payout once

Try to check in your spam or updates as well… it should have been sent if your email is active . If you have a chance to visit the LUSE offices , you can pass by and open the brokerage acc if not , you can set up your online acc and do the brokerage when you can

Communication with your brokers on the app would help you decide how you can easily get your money

If you go to sbz headquarters minimum is k500 . But using the app you can buy even just 1 share so minimum is lower on the app

The minimum on the app should start for K1 while from the sbz headquarters it should be k500 if I’m not mistaken

What about luse it's self ?

Lusaka Stock Exchange is just the market where you buy the shares . For example Manda Hill is the mall where you can buy things but you can’t necessarily buy Manda Hill itself.

The airtel annual report was released in February 2021 : I suspect that’s when the payment must have been made, kindly contact your broker for confirmation.

@@lubutosiame3103 I m afraid that information is not correct, Airtel didn't pay dividend for the year ending 2020. Please counter check that info. Last dividend Airtel paid was in October 2018, which was K1.20 per share as interim dividend for the year ending 2018.

So far I just know : Lafarge & AECI Mining pay you twice ; I’m not sure if there’s a company that pays 3x. Maybe someone in the comment section can help us .

Three times a year??? Even bonds are twice a year. Thrice sounds counter intuitive, considering timelines when companies declare and/or calculate profits.
