I was almost too young to appreciate Tallulah Bankhead. I mean I missed her in her 'heyday' . (whatever that means !) I had seen her on early TV and such and I remember people talking about her all of the time . She must be the 'Bette Davis' type because Bette wrote in her autobiography that Tallulah walked up to her at a party once and said, "So your the one who's been doing my stage roles on screen". And with that Tallulah turned her back on Bette and walked away . Bette was flabbergasted and the two never really had much to do with each other . No wonder !

I had the luck to come across Miss Bankhead at Maple Hill Cemetery as she was visiting her father resting place. She noticed my little brother and thought he was a darling little boy. It was a thrill of a lifetime for the young Huntsville, Alabama teenager.

Have been taking my dog to run and play at a church down the road from my house for years now. 3 days ago a guy was putting gifts on a grave site and my dog ran up to him since he is so friendly. Well the grave happened to be Tallulah Bankheads!!!! I always heard there was a famous actress who was buried here but never really thought to look for it until a few days ago! And after some research here we are!

I am a man that was raised by my grandmother. The way the "old time Hollywood accent" is a real thing...and still exists in different pockets of the North East...Boston (where I'm from) NYC, Connecticut....My grandmother was actually born into wealth and her mother was from nobility but, she was raised by her mother after her Dad died and his family took possession of everything. People had a lot more compassion for others during the war periods and widows with children were common. The thing is if you went to Catholic School part of the lessons were "received pronunciation" . For reasons I won't get into I didn't live with my parents and siblings in their affluent suburb...My nan and I lived in 3 rooms and the kitchen stove heated our home. The reason I have faith and that God knows what he's doing is...my grandmother and I were both very creative...she knew every Classic Literature writing, novel, poem and history...She was an extremely talented author gifted with Kasugai art...She also was widowed young with 5 kids. Somehow I was born with "crazy blond surfers hair" and both my parents have dark, dark hair and eyes. My grandmother also worked for one of the Kennedy family members for 40 years. I started being in the spotlight from Romper Room on...I don't work often now 40 something but, I have to tell you an old family story I used to hate...now it makes me laugh. When I was on kids shows the camera would single me out because I would take over the class and toss the book Miss JoAnn was reading and ask to tell a "story that had more substance" then I gave the short cliff notes 5 year old version of Wuthering Heights and the moors and Cathy coming for Heathcliff...I'm sure I had NO idea what moors were yet it caught local news and it spread after a news interview when asked about my family...I then referred to something my grandmother said off the cuff...I said, "well,, it's just me and Nana...and Aunt Joan (Kennedy) my dad and my brothers and sister and other nana and papa don't care for me much because Nana said...when you were born you came out of your mum talking just like Tallulah Bankhead as a boy and nobody knew what the hell to do....what's crazy is there is 2 clips with voice of me as a little kid and it sounded like I had already gone though puberty by age 4 and I have and had a kind of theatrical way of speaking...Cary Grant, Kate Hepburn Bette Davis Tallulah....I didn't act like a girl but I would loud with a crazy voice and I think when people are always looking at me I'd do crazy things to offset the nervousness...to this day when seeing a doctor or dentist I can't stop talking to catch my breath....even to save my life. So yeah.....I've known Tallulah waaaay before my time.

I think she was so beautiful! She used her political connections from her family to help people escaping the war. She was really happy to help! I LOVE that she called “All About Eve”, “All About Me”! 😹😹😹. When she was diagnosed with a terrible case of ghynorea and had a hysterectomy, she told the Dr, “Please don’t think this taught me any lessons.” 😹😹 I can go on and on… she was just an original! Love her.

I always felt kind of sorry for her. It seems she must have gone through allot as a youngster. Something in her eyes has always shown a kind of pain.

Tallulah was an irresponsible force of nature, a true American original like Mae West, Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis. Tallulah was doing things through out her life that would make the wild happens of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton look like a Sunday picnic LOL. I think the reason she never became a huge star in film was she was so independent spirit that she would play the rules of Hollywood, wouldn't allow them to turn her into something she wasn't. Also she has such a huge personality that it was too big to be captured in film. She was elegant and classy but also direct and forward and had a saucy tongue and provocative wit that she could cut someone down to size with her words. I was a shy kid growing up and didn't stand up for myself but when I discovered strong powerful women like Tallulah and Mae West, I feel them gave me a bit of their wisdom and their bawdiness...so now I open my mouth and let things from the top of my head fly out of my mouth that either have people laughing or shocking them LOL

Betty Davis was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, off of Westford Street. She lived In a very nice house. Not a Mansion. According to todays standards. Her house was very nice. I've seen the inside and outside. Of course, others live there during my time... Not sure if they were related to her or not.

Her voice is like a more aristocratic Katherine Chancellor from YR.

I feel so close to her ( Talullah) I remember when I was old enough to drink I was her for Halloween one year and I did not step out of character all night with my long gown and eye makeup with my champagne glass and cigarette and saying that I had my Bubbly Dah-ling have a glass of Bubbly with me. My ex said that he fell in love with me that night. Hahahaha!! 😂❤😂 I wish more people knew who she was. Even people my age mud 40’s don’t know who she was. It makes me feel sad that kids these days don’t know about early Hollywood movies and legends. Anyway, I came here to say that I believe that I might embody her in a way. I have always been the rebellious type and I’m a smoker but I don’t want to be. I am trying to quit but every thing else about Talullah is me in a way. Eccentric opinionated, rebellious, loving, beautiful, and kind of funny and witty. She was a True Legend in her day and she always will be to me. 🖤⭐️🖤⭐️🖤⭐️

Electric onstage, La Bankhead was just too OTT and one-dimensional for the screen. Davis shared some of her attributes, ( that's why they film cast her in Bankhead stage triumphs ) but she had a vulnerability under the carapace and its this tension that energises her performances.

She was fabulously funny and a wit -but too many faces in this doc taking about her as opposed to she doing it herself.

this is not a true account of who TBH really was. I really do not like TBH. By all accounts, she treated other actors badly, she was a toxic and volatile personality, she was cruel and unkind to others. She was also mostly drunk, mean and drunk. And pretentious, egoistic displaying anti social behaviour, a sociopath. During interviews and documentaries, other actors had expressed that she was really despised for her horrible behaviour. I think you need to reassess the real or true qualities in others that you look for or identify with.
