Love Red Beryl! The shallows are amazing there, I like the short swim to the drop off too! That was a lot of Ocean Triggerfish! You guys balance site information, day and night diving, fish and coral diversity so well, along with the behavior humor (Damelfish Attacks lol). Thanks for the time you put in on your videos! Impressive!

Thanks Chris. We do major updates to the format each year and are thinking about breaking out the night dive into its own section that would contain a tip or two about how to do each site at night. That might help people be a little more comfortable/adventurous. We do look forward to seeing you guys next year as well.

Great job! Your videos get better and better. I love the new music. Now go back to Aruba for a few videos. 😂

Ha! We would love to return to Aruba as those were the first videos we did and there is a "bit" of difference between those and our current format. We miss Tres Trapi! We will go back at some point, but nothing scheduled so far. Curaçao is getting a return February and March, so look for Superior Producer, Playa Kalki and a few others next Spring. And, of course, thank you for the very nice complements. :-)

Another great video. We will be on Bonaire starting next Saturday and maybe looking forward to a night dive with you guys if it all works out. Untill then..

That would be terrific! We have one scheduled with Jolanda at Alice in Wonderland if you're interested. That said, it is guided and her rates are $60...but you'll likely get a mention in the AiW credits section. :-)

Let me know if you want to join us on Monday and I can let Jolanda know. If you do, let me know if you will bring your own tank or need one. Jolanda can supply, but its a bit more for that. Safe travels!

You get some amazing footage...what's your set-up?
@TropicLens
@TropicLens 11 месяцев назад
Thank Jonnie! Also, sorry for not including the camera information from the video description. I must have accidentally deleted that from the template. Anyway, for the next few weeks, it will continue to be the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but the 15 Pro Max is on its way (albeit slowly) to Bonaire. For the Red Beryl footage, the iPhone was inside a Divevolk Seatouch 4 Max with additional lighting from a pair of Kraken Hydra 8000 WRGBUs. I have used the iOS camera app so far (with that housing), but literally downloaded the new Black Magic camera app yesterday, so we'll be playing around with that soon. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@@TropicLens Thanks for the detailed reply; I was sure you were using a dedicated camera and UW housing. That is great video from a mobile phone!

You didn't identify the scorpionfish at 10:04...I make it out to be a possible Spotted (Caribbean) Scorpionfish (Scorpaena plumieri) 🦂
@TropicLens
@TropicLens 11 месяцев назад
I think you're right on that being a spotted scorpionifish Jonnie. :-) That said, we typically only identify critters in two sections of the videos: the uncommon animal section toward the end of the Background chapter and the Sea Life chapter. It does happens occasionally...if we reference something rare/unique; but generally, just those two areas. We do appreciate keeping us on our toes, though!

You publish diving movies and don't know the difference: This is not a crab - it's an octopus.
@TropicLens
@TropicLens 11 месяцев назад
Thank Curt. While we do our best to get everything labeled correctly, it is possible we miss something now and again. In fact, upon rewatch, we noticed an incorrect fade and duplicate "Smiley face", so those will get corrected. We couldn't find the crab/octopus issue though. Where does that occur?
