Hi, this trip can be done by live-aboard but is expensive compare to what I did. I first flew to Ambon from Jakarta and spent 3 full days of diving which can be done with Bluemotion or Bluerose divers (Basic accomodations) . To make it to Banda Naira, you simply take a ferry from Ambon which leaves twice a week in season (6-7 hours). Diving Banda Naira is done in the fall or in the spring because of otherwise rough seas. I went in November but you can also go in April. You can dive with Bluemotion in Banda Naira, it is a German based organisation, very well run and very reasonable price wise. You do have to book your accomodation well in advance though. Blue motion operates in junction with their own hotel which is practical but if you really want charm and magic from this whole experience I would suggest this: The Cilu Bintang as your place to stay while diving with Blue motion. Abba is the owner of the Cilu Bintang which has fantastic location and view! A 10 minutes walk from the dive shop and hotel of Blue Motion. I liked it a lot and would love to go back, but if I can, my next trip would be the Galapagos.
