Mix of video and photos from our dive cruise in Surin, similan and Richelieu Rock in December 2020.
We are lucky enough to be stuck in Thailand during this Covid crisis. Heading back for a christmas with our family was not possible this year but there was no better way to spend it diving on the Smiling Seahorse in two Jewels of the Andaman Sea: Surin and Similan National parks!
We visited Surin islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, the similan islands such as anita reef, and Richelieu Rock on the West coast of Thailand: that's the best area to dive in Thailand.
We departed from Ranong, at the border with Myanmar, which is the closest departure point to reach Richelieu Rock and Surin national park.
We first came to The Smiling Seahorse in 10 days ago for a 4 days/3 nights. We loved it so much we went back for a week long cruise over Christmas.
On this video, you will see the boat (MV Smiling Seahorse) as well as the marine life we could see over these few days on the Andaman Sea.
• How was the boat?
MV Smiling Seahorse is 25 meters long, has 4 floors and was designed by and for divers at the end of 2018. It is so much more spacious than we expected especially the sundeck and outdoor lounge from where we admired the sunrises and sunsets every day. It is very well organized and the staff was very attentive both above and below the water.
