Absolutely! DOS2 was the reason why i fell in love with CRPGs and turn-based/tactical combat (despite never liking either of them). The depth of choices and decisions, the insanely thought out combat and build varriety, the hilarious and emotional writting, the breathing soundtrack and lore...It was overwhelming AF for the first few hours, but i loved every second of it. Larian really remind me of the old BioWare era (origins especially). And i couldn't be happier for Swen and his team - they trully deserve it. It was a RPG of the decade for me and i have no doubt It's gonna be BG3 this gen as well... Great video mate! ;)
I agree with everything you said! I was disappointment when they stopped developing the sequel after announcing it. But now I know it's cause they were working on BG3. Also, thank you for taking your time to watch the video 😁 I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Just managed to properly get into this game after a year off , I never really understood how to play it for First time round and spent 50 hours on fort joy act 1 , now after days of RU-vid self education I am fully obsessed
I get you. I was playing the game to get some footage for this video and ended up obsessing over it again. Now I've cleared the game a 2nd time after losing many hours of sleep 😂
dos2 will completely blow you away. it is everything that baldurs gate is, but WAY BETTER. the story is epic, the plottwistsa are mindbending, the music is absolutely BEAUTIFUL (i still listen to it DAILY on spotify) and the characterbuilding couldnt be better. plus the world. its the best
I've not played this turn-based style before, but I am a fan of RPG games.... I'm wanting to give this genre a try, but I've seen other suggest starting with DOS2, rather than Baldur's Gate 3. Thoughts?
Dos2 is actually a good place to start especially if you're easily overwhelmed. From what I've experienced, bg3 has a lot of hidden mechanics that can push new players away. While still complex, dos2 helps you understand Larian's gameplay mechanics before going into bg3.
@@joepeglegmorgan3015 If you ever wanna try it out, just go ahead and play around with everything you see. It's normal to feel confused with all the mechanics. Just have fun and once you get better and start understanding the gameplay, start a new game.
@@joepeglegmorgan3015 I went ahead and got DOS2... it was (and is) a bit confusing, but also a lot of fun! Otherwise, Andro is exactly right: just have fun and figure things out as you go. There is no rush, and no real consequence to making mistakes. I've started again twice, but I'm really looking forward to making a deep dive into the game... loving the different characters and the voice acting :)
DOS 2 is the best game that was ever made. and it is so much better than baldurs gate that i didnt even enjoy baldurs gate. the rng sucked, the story was meh and i SEVERELY missed the perfect music from divinity..... also divinity had me curious and excited 24/7 while baldurs gate felt mundane and lost in mediocre valley
The world building in DOS2 was soo good. I'm not gonna say BG3 was mundane, plus DOS2 had the same composer as BG3 too. They're different - and BG3 gave me the opportunity to enjoy a DND game... for once 😆 But, I'm really really excited for Larian to come back to DOS with everything they learned while making BG3. Oh man DOS3 GOTY.
@@AndroMatthew i hope they dont make the mistake of rng/baldurs gateify DOS 3. would be THE biggest disappointment. and yeah same composer BUT still no memorable music. i still VIVIDLY remember every single song from dos 2 and can even tell storys to them.
