Was introduced to this with the first Austin Powers movie when I was about 10. Now I'm 29 and it still remains one of my favorite songs ever. Have a good 90% of it memorized by heart.
for my senior year i sang this in a talent show infront of all the school staff, after i said i dedicated to my history teacher (which i had a crush on). everyones jaw dropped
For those wondering, the musicians are lead vocalist Christina Amphlett, guitarist Mark McEntee, bassist Randy Jackson, drummer-percussionist Charley Drayton, and organist Benmont Tench.
@@torakunoichi No the Divinyls singer sang the song in a breast cancer awareness campaign after she got breast cancer. The original song is about masturbation.
But wasn't this song released in the mid 80's? I remember hearing this song at my friend's house for the first time. We'd dance/sing along to it as we got ready for our dates with our boyfriends, lol...
I was in the gym a few years back and met this girl. She was asking for help with deadlifting and just needed help with form so we gave each other our numbers so we can meet up and have a gym partner and one day I'm at work and she sends this song to me. She was 21 and me 39 and my jaw dropped in shock. I married her 2 years later and still gym partners. Updated. Still married and the luckiest guy in the world!
I loved Austin Powers when I was a little kid, I think 3 or 4 years old when Goldmember came out and I remember seeing it in theaters. No one could ever understand why I loved the movies so much and I used to dance in my undies to this song, it made everyone so uncomfortable. 😂
I can't remember how I found this song but I do remember being 13 and this was my then bf ringtone and how loud my phone was.... He called to say Merry Christmas on Christmas day right in the middle of us eating thank god I had my phone in another room on charge so it was muffled it was embarrassing enough as it is awesome song though haha
Every time I hear this song I picture melissa fumero (Amy Santiago from Brooklyn Nine Nine) lip syncing this song to me while dancing sexy in black lingerie and giving me a lapdance lol 😂😂😍😍
I remember being in kindergarten and listening to this song with my mum and then watching Austin powers now I'm in highschool and still in love with all of the movies and this song
I'll never forget the time this came on while I was at physical therapy in my sophomore year of high school. I was just lying there like "Am I the only one hearing this?"
I asked one of my classmates if he would rather someone be unable to touch themselves without thinking about him, or unable to think about him without touching themselves. He said he'd rather it be the former, because he wouldn't want someone inadvertently touching themselves at unexpected times - it could be inconvenient, ya know. But if she (or he, I suppose) was touching herself anyway, she'd be in private, and her thoughts would be private anyway, so it wouldn't really be any trouble at all.
The song you didn't want to come on the radio in the car with your parents or walk in when you were watching videos. (Lead singer RIP Chrissy Amphlett 2013) Great song from Austin Powers International Man of Mystery 1997
I remember my mom throwing shoes at us for singing this! Call 1-800 blah blah to order all these great hits! They played the commercial over and over, you eventually learned the lyrics! All for 3 payments of $19.95
I bet chicks in the early 90s got exited listening to the radio and hearing the start of this song...like OMG OMG I THINK THIS IS IT 😂. But yeah...as someone who loves metal, hard rock, and hardcore rap, this song is one of my guilty pleasures.
@Warren552011 Thanks for the info, I did read a book on her life many years ago, but can't recall details now. Also saw her perform many times back in the day. A great performer
I was at a karaoke bar once and a woman sang this and every guy in the room was spellbound lol So tempted to send this to my bf right now haha. Austin Powers brought me here
I dedicate this one to Erin centner ...I always think about her and her beautiful jubblies .. she is mean face BEAUTIFUL... but when I can make her smile it kills me deep inside ...
When I was in high school my buddy was older and lived with these two college girls, on the weekends they would parties and table dance to this Song blasted, miss those days
The first time I heard this song was in Veronica Mars, a long time ago. But, I didn't know who sang it. I really wanted to find the song. Finally I did. Many years later.
LOL, my friend told me she used to sing and dance this a lot when she was 5/6. She just realized, after listening to it recently, what this song actually meant. :))
My sister had just come back from Boston, where she was learning English, and when we were in the car she just started laughing. When we asked what she laughing at, she said "I just figured out what this song is about!" XD
