He literally put a video a day ago stating that he was wrong on saying it did not do more damage than an all red setup no?

@@markuskylrnd1798he did, but still went ahead to remake said trash build into a "better version " with 3pcs Striker, Ninjabike BP, one picaros and one fox's prayer. The main issue with the whole video is that there's no way you'd justify using Stiker as a skill build, the gearset only increases weapon damage, in the incursion run he posted with the build, it was very obvious his skills were doing some really lackluster damage. There's literally no way to increase his skill damage on that build aside from the capacitor. No matter how you look at it, there's no way that qualifies as a skill build

@@markuskylrnd1798he doubled down on it by saying he did not optimize it enough,swapped the skills to chem launcher and sniper turret and the closest thing to him admitting being wrong is that he said he had FI in the range. he still argues about it in the comments about how with the sniper turret he would win in a dps contest,and when backed into a corner he pulls the ultimate “its just a game brah why so serious” card. also his build got even worse somehow,ninjabag with picaro,his total chc/chd stat is even lower than the previous video and striker drone would actually be better than chem launcher

@@blackquincy5073 I been using that same build for months in pve. It hits 1 Mil to the head 800k to the body in solo play. I assume with all the buffs in the incursion it would be a lot stronger

Yeah atleast with tuxido he's atleast objective with his builds,tbh if you want to look for funky/different builds the guy to look for makes soo much different stuff.

tuxedo makes builds to have fun. identity makes the most bullshit outlandish claims

I'm glad I came across your channel though, refreshing to find someone with a similar mindset. I haven't played since that happened really, just came back a week ago to the game.

@@1onesix Valid and I concur. I don't play much anymore. However I realize there has been a trend going on for a while. If people pay close enough attention, they can actually see the difference between content creators who are putting out content for the community while holding themselves accountable to what they put out/state and those who use clickbait titles to views to make a profit. I'm not knocking anyone who is using this platform to feed themselves or achieve their dreams. But we as humans have to recognize when people are sensationalizing many of their titles because let's face it... there are 100s of content creators for The Division community, and not enough actual content to make unique and attractive videos. The problem with the original video in question is that the content creator made a bold claim about the build he was presenting. Then issued a challenge on top of that. Pride and ego can get in the way of genuine motivation to bring something fun/dope/different to the community. If there was no..."this is better than an all red striker build...", this wouldn't have come to this. And content creators are motivated to do those kinds of things because they want views, clicks and engagement so that they can profit on YT. 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@mackc.8455 I concur as well. Some build videos people make don't work as well as they say or there are stipulations or certain buffs used to make them better. Most of it is click-bait. Those of us who are day 1 agents we seen most builds already. So no this skill tier striker doesn't hit harder than an all red striker but it's a pretty good alternative for pve

A striker skill build is not a thing 😭. Slapping on 6 skill tiers on doesn't make it a skill build. Yes, you can run what he posted in missions but think about this "you'd almost never have full stacks of striker, if you're not playing on legendary or have a fuck ton of enemies to stack with, so where, when and why would you even use this build?

​@@bazookas.unfortunately striker stacks only apply to weapon damage. If they did work for skills, that would make Identity's build probably do more dps than just a normal strikers build. Unless you meant to say the capacitor stacks?

About that secret unspoken rule. Well yes there is kind of something like that which is why some of the division 1 OGs left div 2. Edit and they went to the game with an even bigger content creator co-op lul.

"Okay guys, I'm an idiot, this isn't the best DPS, my buds were buffing me a bit too much" and we move on.

the point about the buffs isn't that they won't happen. yes you can think of a build reaching full potential in a group setting with 3 teammates wearing the coyote's mask to buff your crit numbers, among other things. but if you are going to do that then the idea of an 'all red build' also shifts. that build will also just leave crit chance in the 30s and bump everything into crit damage. in which case, if the all red variant also takes into account team buffs, it will still out-dps the skill striker.

Better in what regard exactly? It’ll be better if you want to take less damage yourself, as your skills will draw enemy attention off you. But the damage you deal yourself won’t be better.

Yes it’s dumb. To the point that I personally won’t watch anything from Identity again. He’s evasive, prone to hyperbole and his builds aren’t new when he says they are. Nor do they do more DPS. I guess I could be the only person unfollowing. But I doubt it. Integrity matters to some of us. To others, not so much.

Because I would say that they search youtube for 'Division 2 best builds' or something along those lines, and the videos they are shown will inherently be videos from the bigger and most viewed channels for Division 2. One of the biggest channels for Division 2 put out this video in question, which was proven wrong in a lot of ways. Do you think it's appropriate to mislead people like that?

@@liamwells2132 Sure, but the reaction is way over the top. On top of that the context has to be looked at. I took it that the streamer meant it hit harder in totality. If you combine the damage from the capacitor, from the 6-tier turret and the 6-tier drone on one target, I find in testing it is very comparable to an all red build but hard to test. To be this faux upset is not helpful.

Because the only reaction Dod had was to take on the challenge, prove him wrong, show and say how he was wrong and then after Identity made the second video, Dod responded with why this is a big deal for Identity. As for your second statement, Identity did mean that his build does more damage than an all red striker's build in total damage (weapon+skills). However, Dod did the maths and proved that exact sentiment to be wrong. Because it may be difficult to test in the range, but using the calculations that the game uses, outside of the game (like Dod did in his spreadsheets), you can come up with the highest numbers that each build can theoretically hit. Now I would also say that since there are more variables to achieve the highest possible total damage using the strikers skill build (since you are getting damage from three completely separate sources), that would therefore make the optimum damage uptime on an all red striker's build higher than the uptime on the skill strikers build. Identity's strikers skill build is not a bad build by any means, but it's damage isn't comparable to an all red striker's build

Let me preface this, what I'm going to say isn't a shot at you. There isn't anything wrong with using a skill strikers build, however, claiming that it does more damage than an all red strikers build, without actually testing whether it does, is ridiculous and misinforming anyone that views Identity's video. Also, Dod has, with maths, the exact same maths that the game will use to calculate the damage of builds, proven that the 6 skill tier strikers build will never do more damage than a properly crafted all red build. Identity's follow up video with the ninja bike bag and sniper turret is actually a far worse build, dps wise, than his first skill strikers build. Because not only are you relying on hitting 100% headshots with his second build to do optimum dps, but what happens when you encounter an enemy that you can hit headshot damage on, like a helmeted enemy, or a warhound. Even in the incursion that he was making the build for, headshot damage doesn't apply to the turret generators, the heads of the chungas (until you break their armoured helmet that is), the drones throughout the incursion or the cleaner rusher's shields. Whereas a well made all red strikers build does very similar damage to all of those targets. Like I said at the start, there isn't anything wrong with using a hybrid build, or a build that you find fun, because everyone that plays the game wants to have fun and enjoy it in their own way and that's fantastic! However, making extremely false claims, misinforming players that are either new, or don't want to go the extra mile to test the dps themselves, and then when proven wrong with undeniable facts, doubling down and act like he wasn't wrong and did nothing wrong and everyone pointing out his factual errors is 'toxic' or 'needs to chill out', is an absolutely terrible and childish way of responding. In short, use whatever builds work for you and your play style, there isn't anything at all wrong with that, just don't make unproven and false claims, especially when you have a large audience. the thing isn't that iDentity used a bad build he just made it seem as if it 1. was his own creation 2. was better than full red striker 3. good for the incursion which is all wrong the problem here is that people (especially beginners) will copy the build, use it and then get kicked from everything because the build isn't suited for the incursion or raids, etc.

So one of the biggest Division 2 content creators, didn't put any work into properly testing his build, and then decided to put the massively bold claim out there, that said build does more damage 'than any all red strikers build', inherently spreading that misinformation to 10's of thousands of people. But the guy that in a respectful but to the point way (that people somehow mistake for toxicity), accepts the challenge, does the full maths and comes back with the conclusion that the build does not beat even the most ordinary all red strikers build, while showing all his work, this person is somehow more problematic to the division community than the person who has the much larger reach and influence that has spread misinformation. Then when proven to have done that, not only doesn't apologise at all for his actions, but actually doubles down on those claims. I know which type of person I would rather in the community. There isn't any problem with running whatever build you have fun with and/or enjoy, but there are so many problems with lying, that is the issue we have. Identity could have simply apologised for his mistakes and we would all move on, and quite frankly I think everyone would gain massive respect for him if he did that

@@bazookas. for what its worth... pretty sure anyone that goes into a raid with this build is gonna hear a lengthy seminar in why its bad and what the meta raid build is at the moment.

@@liamwells2132 who cares about identity and hid build. if you bother to test this build it wont take very long to decide if it is trash. so user beware.. do the test, if you make it work in content then you can use it...only a matter of time before you hear about before you enter a raid. then there's a character check. what does a player do when they are told they cant use a build to run raids. are they gonna accept the input and put on the meta build or will the rage and moaan about it. thats part of raids.. agent interaction before, during, and after a raid. my point, is that you should play the game and get better. the game tells what to do, all you need to do is read. Your experience and awareness will make most builds work for most content. Then you use your imagination and try different combos. if you want look at creator content, but dont be militant about it. its a game ..right

The big deal is people are on youtube trying to look up factual information not what you THINK is amazing. Real facts. Real stats. Real damage. It's great to think outside the box and make unique builds sure but some things are simply better.
