Divorce Taught Me: Societal Timelines Are Meaningless

Hello tater tots!
Divorce taught me so many things. Making a decision for myself and myself only was the absolute best thing I ever did.
It was really difficult at the time, but because of that tough decision and those hard times in my 20s I was able to learn who I was a person on a deeper level, figure out what I wanted and I found something infinitely better for me.
The main take away for me was that society’s standards, timelines, and expectations were meaningless. And we are socially programmed to think that they mean everything - when in reality, they don’t mean shit.
Living your life the way you want to, is the best gift you could give yourself.
I hope you enjoy this episode!

Definitely society tells you that these are the steps you need to do! Plus thats what adults do to teens or young adults "how long have you been together? when are you going to get married? when are you going to have kids?".. I've been with my partner now for over 13 years and we are still not married and have no kids because that's just not what I want but it doesnt stop people from asking us or us feeling pressure like we do have to get married..!

Ugh I hate that!! Like. I wanna tell them all to leave you alone! Haha. Different things work for different people!! Sending you all the… slippery soapy (?) energy so you can let those comments slide right off 😂 This video is your reminder that you don’t need to follow any arbitrary societal guideline to be happy 🎉💜🙌🏼

I’m newly divorced and don’t plan on dating for the next five years to give myself space to grow, time to heal and most of all focus on my kids. I truly appreciate you sharing your experience🩷 thank you💕
