Very clever Steve. I can see making a number of these in different grits as a leather strop. Could be used with a variety of knives. Thanks for sharing

Hello from Alabama. I did sort of the same thing to one of my Moras a few years ago. I glued the sand paper to the sheath. Your idea is better and I'll be upgrading my efforts to yours. Thanks for the tip.
@sosteve9113
@sosteve9113 2 года назад
Hello Viron Greene, That wouldn't be a bad idea either,I still can loose it by laying it somewhere Or loose it(pretty stuck on the sheath so far) rather then your option. Imho I think this is more versatile. I used wet and dry sandpaper for this project,and glued it with contact glue (water resistant) atb Steve

You have also the brand hultafors a bit cheaper but the same quality, But even Mora isn't really expensive and very good for the most tasks.you can modify it in many ways, Without spending to much money on a decent knife.

Thanks my friend, It is a very easy mod,probably a lot cheaper then most sharping stones. One sheath of sandpaper goes a long time,this type of paper is wet and dry to use. How is covid in your part of the world? Everything here is gradually getting worse with the day Stay safe brother Atb Steve

@@sosteve9113 Sorry to hear the situation is getting worse there. Here in Newfoundland, Canada, our Province is really doing very well. It helps that we are an isolated island. We are nearing 90% of residents here fully vaccinated. Our Covid numbers are really low compared to many other places. Newfoundland has had 2031 cases of Covid, right now only 19 active cases and a total of 17 deaths. Health Canada just approved vaccinations for children aged 5 - 12. In Newfoundland we have mandatory mask usage inside public places. It seems to be working here. We have had several lock downs but it is still not bad here.
@sosteve9113
@sosteve9113 2 года назад
@@mustang774 we are 92% fully vaccinated,but for some reason it's back under the people. They are debating now for getting children under 12 years old also to get the vaccine. More then 1.5 million had it so far and more then 26500 deaths And today another 16700 are positive tested. Guess we are not that good in keeping it out,were going to have our third shot in the near future. Lives go on,with some restrictions but we doing alright. Nobody in my family is affected so far 👍👍 Stay safe out there my friend

@@sosteve9113 I hear there is a new Delta Variant Here in Canada now in British Columbia. (far west coast of the country) The numbers where you are....wow that is crazy. @@sosteve9113 Honestly, they are equally as effective too! Although I admit I have the ubiquitous diamond/ceramic sharpeners, I feel when it is eventually worn, lost or broken, I won't be looking to replace it in a hurry. Instead it'll be a paint stirrer and abrasives. Cheers again and have a good weekend.
@sosteve9113
@sosteve9113 2 года назад
@@scruff_ukIt happens because i made a sharpener like your ceramic sharpener and came with this, (with a bunch of these stir sticks lying around) because it was very versatile and inexpensive, I've been doing all my kitchen knives with this sharpener for a while now, and since it performs well, I've incorporated it into the mora knife, as an alternative to my sharpening stone. and if I lose this it wouldn't be expensive at all
