plastic and heat= melted .can find or make fan blades with tin/aluminum cans ,or scrap sheet metal/ house flashing..thanks good vid

You need to apply heat sink grease to both sides of the TEG for better heat transfer
@stunnin420ify
@stunnin420ify 9 месяцев назад
People complaining about the plastic blades melting, you need to go do some self learning. It’s definitely not blowing out 400degree air which is plastics melting point. Fire is only 1000 degrees. Which means 60% of that heat gets transferred to the furnace and probably only %25 of that heat will be transferred through his heat sink to the fan.

Only concern is the plastic fan blade, with it being designed to move heat, it should be metal or something resistant to heat.

Nice video! Thank you! Would you please explain why a heatsink should be attached to the downside of the thermoelectrig generator? Wouldn't it be more effective when the t.u. had a direct contact to the heat source? Or is it because the oven would be too hot for the th.unit and would destroy it? Thank you!
@busyjambes
@busyjambes 7 лет назад
mirinae you're right, it could work like that too. i am used the second heatsink to hold it all together. without the lower heatsink it would just be a stack of loose parts. plus i think my woodstove might just fry the TEC by melting the solder. ..

I have 2 questions James. 1) What is the low-voltage motor rated at to spin from the output of the peltier output? I ask this because I have used 3 fans from my PC (from large to small) and none of them are turning. They are all rated 12V DC. I dont have a spare CD player motor so I'll have to buy one - please recommend one on Amazon or Ebay that will work. 2) Is there a hot side vs. cold side to place the peltier plate? Does it matter which side is up or down? Cheers!
@busyjambes
@busyjambes 7 лет назад
I am not sure what my motor was rated for, but it was very small in size. I couldn't find a motor in my computer that would work either, they were all too big. Ask your friends for old cd/radio players they can donate. Even post on your facebook looking for old stuff to use. Peltier placement is pretty independent, there is no hot/cold side.
@busyjambes
@busyjambes 7 лет назад
My motor is 1.5V. A far cry from 12V
@brawnylads
@brawnylads 7 лет назад
oh snap. so, these peltiers are rated at 12v but, that's input not output? do you know if they make other peltiers that produce more voltage than 1.5V?
@busyjambes
@busyjambes 7 лет назад
They do make much larger ones but the price increase is steep. The output can be 12v but you would need enough current to make a difference. It seems likely that a motor from any cd player that can run on 2 AA batteries would work well
@brawnylads
@brawnylads 7 лет назад
I experimented with the peltier plate you recommended. 1) it only produces 2V at MAX given a super heat source vs. a super cold source. i placed the peltier on my stove top and a steel cup of ice water on top. if you go above 250 degrees F it will melt the solder coming out of the peltier. so, with that said - max voltage is 2V using 200-250 degrees with a serious cooling system on your cooling sink. we're talking low temperatures for this whole system. otherwise, all these compenents melt down.

only down side i see to this is that the fan blade isnt ballanced... could give you noise and vibration also making it hard for the motor to get started if its trying to pull the weight upward

Pan Honge Please DO NOT place the fan in front of the chimney or near the chimney,the temperature around chimney pipe is very high,it may cause damage of your fan.The optimum position is at the side or back part of the stove top.

Design a low voltage induction heater fan you can use for camping or for home use that can also run off solar power. Novartis
@busyjambes
@busyjambes 7 лет назад
what do you mean? Im just unsure about what you mean by a low-voltage induction heater fan for camping is all. Maybe provide the description without using the word induction please
@jimmartin7899
@jimmartin7899 7 лет назад
Crystal graphite rod using electrical current to vibrate crystal graphite red hot. To produce a heater and a hot plate you can operate off solar.
@jimmartin7899
@jimmartin7899 7 лет назад
Like how a high energy transmission coil heats metal atoms to produce heat on an induction cook top.
@jimmartin7899
@jimmartin7899 7 лет назад
A man could use a low voltage hertz emitting diode to cause the Crystal graphite to resonate and turn red hot. Y'all know more about that kinda of stuff mate? Vibration technology?

I'm a bit confused. You've sandwiched the flat disk you bought on Ebay between the 2 heat sinks. I thought one side of the disk should be exposed to heat. Will you explain please?
@busyjambes
@busyjambes 7 лет назад
Ava Maria when you put the woodstove fan on the woodstove, the heatsink in contact with the stove is exposed to heat. the heat is conducted up through the TEC into the upper heatsink where it is released into the air. the heat moving through the TEC produces an electric current, powering the fan
@avamaria8447
@avamaria8447 7 лет назад
Does 2 heatsinks give more heat than just one? I only have one.
@busyjambes
@busyjambes 7 лет назад
Ava Maria probably not, i actually think two would give you less heat. helping you to keep your tec from melting entirely

Build a simple sterling engine, then you never have to worry about your TEC going bad, and you don't need a motor.
