I want to build one of your shower designs. I looked at many other shower systems and your system is best by far in my opinon. I'm also going to build a water pump system based off of your design and add a water purification system to it it for filling up my water from rivers that I go fishing. I'll send you a video of my system for pumping clean water to my sink and shower. I'm looking forward to building one of your shower systems. What a great build. I'm not sure how big that battery is that's providing the power, but have you thought about maybe including a way to heat the water while in the bucket? Maybe adding a 12vdc heating element that can be used instead of boiling water. A 300 watt element will heat 5 gallons of water up from 70 to 110 in about 90 mins. Maybe even add a solar panel to help with power or even a vehicle since I doubt you'll be carrying some thing like this on your back, and then you can jump up to a 600 watt element or just have two 300 watt. Heating up that much water and then pouring it into the bucket can be a pain, but it does work. Adding another switch for a heating element is a lot easier. You could also use a coil of copper tubing and have a T fitting with a valve off the discharge side of the pump, and pump water through the copper tubing while laying it in a small fire and back into the bucket. I will say that heats water up in a few minutes. I know because that's how I did it and it's FAST. I also set the copper tubing on a small back packer stove and heated up water fast as well, while cooking my meal. You do need more rubber tubing and copper tubing, and a few other small items, but man, you have all the hot water you could ever need. Keep up the great work. Thanks for the ideas! I'm guessing if someone has enough solar panels to directly power a heating element it may be worth doing a solar heating unit you can drop right into the bucket. I have about 300 watts of solar panels I take camping, I could spare 200 watts during a couple hours of the day to heat some water. Thanks for the ideas.... I'll do some thinking! Heating with battery power isn't worth it in my mind because they will discharge quickly with such a high load.
@wjf213
@wjf213 3 года назад
@@Jasonoid The way I look at it, for the cost of a hole in the bucket, and what a heating element costs...it's worth a try. I mean you can run it off your vehicle too if need be. It's just creating AFFORDABLE options in my book.

If you wanted to slow down the flow rate, could you put an inline dimmer switch to lower the power to the pump and slow the pump down that way?

Definitely a possibility! You'd need some large batteries/solar panels, or a portable generator to run the heater. Heat uses lots of energy! Boiling a 50/50 cold to hot water ratio works well and fast using a camp stove.

@@Jasonoid Sorry, must have missed that! I'm also a little perplexed on how the sprayer/pump operates? At 0:40, it sounds like pressing the faucet trigger is what "activates" the pump? Is that basically how an "on-demand" pump works? Also, could you have also used the same nozzle used in your pump sprayer (1:02)? I think they should have 3/8 barb to garden hose adapters in most hardware stores..
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid Год назад
The pump keeps the water at 35psi when ever it has power. Once you pull the trigger on the sprayer, the pressure drops and the pump kicks on to get the pressure back up to 35 psi. Once you stop pressing the trigger the pump builds up pressure and turns off. You can use which ever nozzle you want, the garden hoses leak overtime and that's why I didn't use one.

@Jasonoid
