I followed your instructions. It worked great. I had a light fixture on my stairs 16 ft up about 5ft away from the wall, dead center of 2 uneven landings. I bought the 36" Dubque clamps then used a hacksaw to get them to the perfect length I needed. It was a little nerve racking at first but the setup is actually pretty stable. We'd never turn on the stair lights because I feared the bulb would burn out and there's no way to change it. Ten years living in the house like this. I put a chain chandelier much lower and now we can finally use the stair lights without fear. Thank you so much for the video.

I'm thinking of cutting off the Harbor Freight clamp head and just use the aluminum body. I think the screws on the head of the Harbor Freight clamp is preventing the cover from sitting fully. Thank you for the idea, I'm planning on using it in a few days
@FixitAll
@FixitAll 3 месяца назад
If you cut off the head with handle, you will need somehow to attach blue wall protection ladder covers. On the handle it's sitting perfectly. Not full the way, but enough to hold the ladder.

@@FixitAll I just did this and was able to insert it fully and it's very secure! I'll try using it tomorrow. Wish me luck I don't fall off a 22ft ladder lol...

Hi friend, which part is the DIY? It looks like the fabricated parts were purchased. Is the DIY just assembly, or do you have another video showing how you made these parts?
@FixitAll
@FixitAll Год назад
You're right, but, "do it yourself" it means done it by you, not by the store, your neighbor or your friends. Even if it was assembled from a bunch of factory materials, products, it may have a name "do it by yourself". So, I have right to call it DIY. Thanks to visit my channel !

This is terrific. But why not just get some cheap aluminum tubing from Lowes instead of the clamps.
@FixitAll
@FixitAll 10 месяцев назад
Yes, of course, you are absolutely right, you can use any pipes that are suitable in diameter. It’s just that I already had a clamp in the garage, and the ladder rubber covers on the clamp hold well.
@UlisesYaniz

Are the bar clamps only being held by tension?
@FixitAll
@FixitAll 11 месяцев назад
Yes, they just fit in there tightly and hold on by themselves.
@UlisesYaniz

@@FixitAll thank you for the reply! Would you recommend something other than the bar clamps that would work?
@FixitAll
@FixitAll 11 месяцев назад
@@UlisesYaniz depending on the length. If you need just 1-2 ft from the wall, you can use oak wood stick. For longer i will recommend aluminum rectangle tube.

Those clamps are kinda pricey. You think aluminum tubing will work as well? I’m afraid it’ll slip in the stabilizer link
@FixitAll

Insert the pipe and drill through with an extension and a bolt with a nut.

@@justd4l278 install ladder as much as safety in vertical position. Less angle to the wall, less pressure to the sheetrock on the wall.
