When I make a boat anchor I use a old car tire . Because. It works great and it holds the concrete in

I've heard an issue can be they topple and roll along the bottom. I plan to counter this by having some rebar stick out the sides near the bottom, but I also might have the eyebolt come out about 2/3rds down as well (coming out sideways). This way in a storm the pull of the buoy will act towards the bottom (and near the rebar outriggers) rather than topple from the top. Thoughts?

What are you anchoring? Last summer I anchored a decent sized inflatable floating slide that had a good amount of surface area for wind to hit. I used two of these bucket anchors and it didn’t move the whole summer. I anchored it on two sides. What is the bottom of your lake like? Where I dropped my anchors it’s all muck. I suspect it sank into it a bit. I bet the rebar thing would work. It might be kinda treacherous trying to put it in place with spikes of rebar shooting out the sides. Have you considered using a rectangular bucket or bin instead? Or you could chain two buckets together. Just some ideas that come to mind.

my plan is to create anchor, then lock my ebike to it. Rebar loop on the corner.

Nice build! Are you using these as permanent anchor points or do you take them with you?

Thanks! I’m using them as permanent anchor points. They are pretty heavy for something like day trips. I also don’t know if they have sank down into the muck, making it even harder to pull out. When I dropped one of them in, it made a big cloud that I assume was muck being shot up from the bottom. For my situation, we get ice in the winter time, so the buoy has to come out or be sunk under water. If you make one, please consider sharing how it went and if you made any improvements!

@@MostlyBuilds they are good builds. They remind me of the permanent anchor stations they have in the gulf here in Florida. It protects the coral from anchor drags

@@allkindsofoutdooractivities ah cool. I’m just anchoring an inflatable float in fresh water. I’ll prob eventually use them to anchor a swim platform. Thanks for dropping a comment. I checked out your channel! Love the grilling videos and your battery box build. Hope to see more from ya.

@@MostlyBuilds appreciate the sub! I’m headed to iCast this week so I hope to post some videos from there

So like is it “legal” to simply drop your own anchor? I ask cause I really don’t know.
