For the past few months, this has been my GO TO recipe for shampoo! I usually only wash my hair once per week and follow it up with an ACV rinse! It makes me feel better knowing exactly what I’m putting onto my body.
Have you tried this recipe or something similar? Let me know in the comments! And don’t forget to like and subscribe if you want to follow along with me as I move closer in the direction of a more sustainable, self-sufficient, healthy home. ✌🏼💚

So then it would make more sense to apply it after washing as where there is soap cannot be oil at the same time. Like with the example of the frying pan. If this would follow the shampoo logic, there would be still oil in the pan after washing it with soap.

Your hair is not like a frying pan, in any way. Your hair needs to retain some oil. It does not need to be stripped. Commercial shampoos strip your hair and that way you spend more money on trying to get that moisture and natural oils back onto your scalp. If you’re interested in learning more, check out people who use no shampoo at all and reset their scalp health. You can also research how tea tree helps improve the health of your head.

If I wash my frying pan with soap, the oil is gone. Hence I presume it is the same with the oil or any other ingredients in the recipe. Therefore one would think, that I can spare all other ingredients and only go with soap if I want to wash my hair. I'm just trying to make sense out of this. Could you help, please.

Your hair is living and needs extra nutrients and moisture. You certainly could just use soap but you’ll be stripping your hair and you need some sort of oil to keep your scalp healthy.

Why waste all your ingredients? Dr Bronners does it already. All you need to do is dilute it. It has the recipe right on the label. And it has all the oils and herbs in it already just choose the ones you want.

Dr Bronners, by itself, is very drying for my hair so I don’t see adding coconut milk and olive oil as wasteful. But if it works for you, great! 👍🏻
