I can't tell you how many times i've tried to make this project and if it wasn't the cops and BELIEVED me I tried everything but glass cups and then the staples, I bought 4 of them and then I tried to glue them NOPE that didn't work either so I stopped trying to make this and believe me I tried everything but I just couldn't get it done. I can't believe what I spent on trying to make this beautiful lite of a ball of lights. I am so sorry for being so negative about this project but I don't know how or what I was doing wrong. But it's a beautiful thing to make but good luck to all WHO TRIES. GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SHOW PEOPLE HOW TO MAKE THIS BEAUTIFUL BALL OF LIGHTS.

I have this ball.., last 2018 .with xmas lights bawat isang cup.until now still okey.Pero yong cups n ginamit qo ,is from McDonald's disposable dati.matibay at hindi nasusunog. My question is: yong ginamit mo na cups, pwde ba gamitan ng xmas lights..? Hindi ba masusunog .?

Yo creería que la bombilla queda colgada en medio o sea en el centro del plástico no tiene contacto y por ende no se pega solo habrá que buscarle la forma que no haga contacto directo solo que quede colgando entre las dos paredes

I still have some of these that I made years ago......and are just as beautiful. my kids always called them the new years ball that drops in Time Square .....mine has christmas lights in them and that makes them glitter more. We made some in colored lights and some in solid color lights and some in white lights they were beautiful.

Can't help to wonder.. how long it'll take before those plastic cups get hot enough from the bulb on and begin to warp, or melt. Easy enough to make but

Am using the lantern 3-4 hours at night . I used it for 4months but cant see any deformed plastic inside. Just be sure to distance the bulb from the cup inside the lantern..

Thats a good question. Its been 40 days since i made it. I decorated it infront of the house and i dont see the cups melting. As long as your sure about the distance from cup to bulb. ^_^

I dont see alternative for bulb. But you can use Christmas lights as well.

Hello @Sandy as long as you use the lowest wattage bulb and limiting its use for 3-4hours at night. Been using one of my lantern from 2 years ago until now.

Mangyayari po talaga yan kung walang space ang plastic at bulb. I used it for 3 months and nothing happened in my own experience. Just be aware where to place your lantern for security reasons.

I used to do arts and crafts back in the 90s I stopped when I got my apartment I did all the crafts to decorate my house with now it's called DIY projects I saw this Lantern years ago also made a cups plastic cups it's still a nice item but it's a lot of work seems like a lot of work that's when you have time A lot of time good luck happy decorating

Made these in the early nineties . Smaller cups and hot glued them together. Also made them in KU colors and sold em to the local bars.

Thats possible but its hard, but you can cut the the snow man in two parts Like a bowl and paste the one as the head and the other will be its body, hope you get the idea . Happy Crafting 🎄🎄😊
