Looking for a high quality, durable and deep backgammon board mold? We have the answer! Create 14x14x1/2" boards and 30 pieces (aka. stones) in one go with the Medium Backgammon Board silicone mold by Crafted Elements.
As a game almost as popular as chess it made perfect sense for us to create a backgammon board silicone mold as a companion product to our popular line of large chess board molds.
At nearly 5lbs in weight and crafted with platinum cure silicone right here in our magical production facility you know your getting a heavy duty, super thick and premium mold that Crafted Elements is known for.
The easiest way to produce finished game sets with this mold is to do it in two sessions. First, pour the game pieces (30 side circles) and the alternating color "triangles" in the middle of the board. You can also fill the border in during this first pour if you'd like a different border color than the base of the board. Let the resin setup enough so it wont mix when you add additional resin. Assuming the initial pour is set, fill in the backer (bottom of the board) by topping up the center of the mold with the color of your choice.

You should make a three step video and add to the top, pin stripes around the triangles. Bet that would look cool

Would you run a hair dryer to pull out any bubble prior to setting? (And thank you for posting this 'how to'.)

Yes for sure. A hair dryer, or heat gun on low. With the shallow molds where you are doing multiple layers like this you definitely want to avoid using a torch and hitting the inner sides, the resin will bond to it if the interior gets damaged,

How many oz in each color bottle and pour? How much for the diamonds, etc. I think you say 40 oz for the final grey flood and pour, correct?

These are 4oz bottles, but I dont know exactly how much I used from each, nor the size/volume of each element of the mold.

How about scratches on the board after many uses?
@CraftedElements
@CraftedElements 3 месяца назад
Yes, its resin (plastic) so it could be scratched over time. Little cork or felt pads on the backgammon 'stones' would avoid that.
