@@sinobomnompuku5013 Extra centimetres for elastic is added on both the waist of the skirts (main skirt and the lining)and the waist band because the band needs to fit the waist of the skirt. Check out this video it is a skirt with an elastic as well to give you more idea ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LBMOEBOh728.html
Hello! I am permanently separating a balloon skirt and beading the outer layer by hand and wanted to know as to how I would finish the raw gathered hem edge? It has folds, and I don't want to disrupt the design.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sUW7mvZMmEc.html here is the video of how to make a quater circle skirt. I did not add any extra material for gathering the hem because it is already flared out
@@NomondeMketshane yes I meant for the waist? Does there need to be some added to the waist so it still fits after gathering? Thank you for the help! Love you videos
@@MsJayOKAY If you want to have elastic on the waist like I did you can just use your hip measurement instead of waist measurement so that you have extra fabric for elastic to stretch. There are no gathers on the waist just elastic. Use hip circumference for both skirts
