Hi Friends! In today's video I'm going to be showing you how to make a beautiful rustic farmhouse frame for your bathroom mirror (AND it's renter friendly 😱). Do you have a plain builder grade mirror in your bathroom vanity? This is what you need to transform it! If you want to make this a permanent solution and you own your home, you can attach the frame with an adhesive like Liquid Nails. I hope you enjoy watching.

Love, love, LOVE that you used Command Strips for your mirror frame. Liquid Nails is way too permanent of an approach for me. Owning my home doesn't mean I want the same look 10 years from now lol. Thank you for sharing your beautiful results.

We're in the process of redoing our hall bathroom and hate the big plain mirror above the sink. We own the home and debated taking it down or gluing on a frame like this, but I think this might be cheaper, easier, and better in case we change up the bathroom again. Thanks for the amazing idea!

Sooooo helpful! As many of the other ladies, have wanted to do this for so long but wasn't sure how it would adhere to the wall....silly me never thought to attach to the actual mirror. Duh me! Hahaha thank you for posting. I think I want to try black frame using pvc planks. This is great, looks perfect for your bathroom.

I watched your video about a year ago and remembered it today and was lucky enough to find it again because now I am ready to frame my huge mirror. I got three samples from Mirror Mates and then I thought I could probably do this myself. I think it's odd that after you stick the boards up, you have to remove them all for an hour and then put them back? I am going to read the comments to see if you addressed this question. Did you builder grade mirrors have hooks on the top securing it to the wall? Mine does even though it appears glued on as well. Did you remove them? Is it safe to do so?

Looks great!! I am in the middle of remodeling my bathroom in Farm-Style, but framing the mirror has been really tough!! My home is a older with the outdated mirror that has the plastic clips unfortunately. So, finding an alternate way to exchange them for something else in order to allow me to frame has been my problem. Struggling to the point of giving up , but I so want to have my Farm-Style bathroom in the end. Do you have any tips or ideas? I have a full length size mirror 36x36.

Amy, do you know if it’s attached with glue also? Just wondering if there’s no glue and just the clips holding it, then maybe you can use some liquid nails and take off the clips.

She Makes 31 , the mirror was only attached by the plastic clips. No glue behind. I ended up having a smaller and not so heavier piece of mirror made. Picking up soon 👏🏼 Hopefully it will work then and won’t be so heavy on the technique of using the flat metal washers instead of plastic clips 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Will Update 😁😁

Love the idea! ❤️ What I didn’t understand is the part where you say that after you put the frame in the mirror you remove it to let the Comando strips cure. Would you please explain it? Thanks

After you put up the frame, you then remove it so that the other half of the strip stays stuck on the mirror and the other half is on the wood. You then allow it to cure - meaning letting the glue really settle into the mirror and wood frame for 30-70 minutes and then you can put the frame back up. Thank you so much for watching!

@@SheMakes31 It must be tricky sticking the boards up a second time, after the command strips have cured, so that they make contact correctly. I think I would make some little cardboard corners, tape them into place on the mirror just inside the frame itself and THEN remove the boards. That way I could reattach them more easily with "guides."

Do u think it will look good painting vanity bathroom the same color as the mirror frame like yours? My wall colors will be Dark storm cloud and the towel rack will be matte black and also shelves with matte balack pipes will be avobe toilet. Curtain rod is the same color too. My floors are life proof LVP light gray color with shades of white. Don't know what cor should I do my vanity bathroom top?

Awesome! If you would have used wood conditioner before staining, the wood would have absorbed the stain more evenly and you would have avoided some of the blotchiness you got on your finish. Wood conditioner is used on soft woods, which I believe you have pine there. Overall nice job, hope you try the wood conditioner on your next project.

I would lile to makeover my Medicine Cabinet Mirror. It's okay but I'd lile to cover the Silver metal frame around the mirror. I was thinking gluing some type of wooden Picture frame onto it or so you mayne have some ideas? I can't find replacement door/mirrors just dor thw front bc the cabinet itself is built into the wall. They held up the entire time we had them up which was over a year and then we moved out recently. They were still holding on strong 💪🏼

What I did was measure the width of mirror and add 1inch, for the height I measured and added 1inch then subtracted the width of my boards. My mirror was 60x 36, and I used 1x4 boards. So I had two 61inch and two 33inch (36 +1-4).
