Watching your video brings back memories! Back in my late teens ( am now in my 60s!) these berets were all the rage and very stylish. My friends and I made them using the same methods as you! This is the best DIY beret video ive ever seen. The directions were clear. The video was perfect. I am just finishing a new winter coat out of grey wool for my daughter, and i have enough fabric left to make a beret....(Its that kind of coat!) Thank you very much. PS I enjoyed the little Math section 😂😂

I did something similar and I used a thicker fabric and a silkier fabric and mine needed no fabric interlining. I found that the beret could be not a perfect circle and still make a great beret. I was using laundry mistake clothes rescued from the trash and that being able to cheat it and not have a perfect circle helped a lot. I cheated also when I had enough fabric to not cheat it so I could fancy cut so as to center a detail or to line up the seams exactly as I wanted.

I used this to make a beret for my little sister, and this tutorial was to the point and easy to follow, especially for a sewing novice. Thank you!

Well this is a great tutorial and if you fold the fabric in quarters when you mark and cut it, you shorten the process even more! I can see this in a wool fabric!
