In the video, I will teach you how to make an 8-piece fabric beret that can be used on both sides.
The method is not difficult, just cut it according to the pattern and stitch it. The pattern shown in the video is 55.2cm beret. You can modify it according to your head circumference and wearing preferences.
In order to adjust the size of the hat more conveniently, there is a rope inside the beret.
For the choice of fabric, I chose the plaid fabric. When cutting the plaid cloth, try to be on the same horizontal line, so that the pattern is more symmetrical

This is the only beret tutorial that doesn't use the double circle method, but triangles. I'm using a Burberry plaid patterned fabric, so the plaid pattern lining up in the vid was such an inspiration! I made a modification to the pattern where the long strip that hugs the head isn't cut separately, but added as an extension at the bottom of each triangle pattern. Loving the seamless look 💖

Very nicely done. Neat work and good pattern. I like this style a lot. Visuals were excellent but there a few things to improve: 1. Please turn off the music. Way too loud. Bad selection that irritates with repetition. It should be VERY SOFT. Try some nice classical music instead. 2. Hat band cloth at base of hat should have been cut on a bias (diagonally). This gives some stretch to the band area which is nice around the head. Also, when its diagonal, the stripes don't have to line up with top. 3. The Bodkin metal device you are using for threading the rope is used incorrectly. You do not thread it like a needle. You are using the wrong end. The claws are what grips the rope while you tighten the ring. Push bodkin into the fabric slot by the round head not the pointy claws. It will slide in easily, while the claws are gripping the rope tightly all the way through. 4. Don't tie a knot with the cord. Use this from Amazon instead: Plastic Spring Stop Toggle Cord Lock. This should improve your next demo. Great job!

Could you please explain the part about "putting the seam allowance to once side and sewing it"? I'm a little confused and the video isn't too clear on what you did.

On the back after sewing, the fabrics of the remaining two pieces of cloth are brought to the same side. Stitch the seam allowance and the surface cloth together (3 layers of cloth in total) This stitching can make the hat stiffer. Of course, you can also skip this step.
