THIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA !!! When you do silver leafing your not supposed to touch the silver leaf with your bare hands. You are supposed to use 100% cotton gloves because it tarnishes and scratches it. Also you are supposed to use a very soft brush on it.
Hello WILD CHILD , of course you are right especially if dealing with the real stuff and guilding a frame or something. But in this situation you can be a bit flexible. Tree, great idea. Over here Sizing was a very thick starch used back before permanent press clothes. We have Mod Podge here that you can use too. I saw a video where someone use a doily and glued it over a shoe... gorgeous....dee

Thanks Tree, a little different to your usual but very interesting. I think maybe that glue is a bit like mod podge which is pva glue watered down. You did a great job transforming those boots!
Yes it is Dibdib35 , is that a good or a bad thing though?? It's just that I'd seen similar in this expensive but nice shop ***** and was thinking about how I could get the same effect (whilst jogging in park listening to Paloma Faith Just can't rely on you, over and over again!!!)
