Materials: used garden bricks, clay-based soil, sand, rock, empty glass bottles
Notes:
1. My garden soil is heavy in clay. Test the clay/sand ratio before using any soil to build your cob oven.
2. To lower costs, I used regular garden bricks for the oven surface. To be safer, you can choose firebricks.
3. My oven character "Totoro" is from Ghibli's movie "My Neighbor Totoro". You can create any shape for your oven. Make sure the oven door is ~63% high of the inner oven height.
4. The cob oven is water soluble. Build it under a roof or cover it. I give my Totoro a large umbrella to mimic the movie image.
