Man this is like the pioneer days when jumper harnesses were not $20 on ebay to go from obd2 to obd1 haha. Cool stuff. 😎

Wiring the pinout of an ECU is easy once you have the correct wire diagram and be well prepared with the necessary equipment. Talking from experience... with your level of experience I got to say good work man 👍

don't forget to post the pinout guide somewhere so we can all follow it. Also im pretty sure the stock honda 0bd1 ecu has input and output from the alternator to control the voltage regulator are you using the haltech to do the same thing? or if we don't run those wires into our standalone ecu will the alternator still charge and work properly without them?

You'll need to purchase the elite 550 from the link in description to get access to the written guide, pinout and basemap.

You can just pull the honda side ecu pins out of the gray socket instead of clipping them off, if they are unused just pull them out from the socket side

Thanks for the video on making a budget jumper. To stay better organized I would recommend using a wire marker book. I would also recommend that the pins for the connector are clean before soldering on the wires. Keep the videos and wealth of knowledge coming and stay humble.

I'm trying to do this for a maxxecu to my prelude gen 4 and got stuck on some parts. Where does some of the cables go to?😅 For example, where do I put the distributor power, vehicle speed or ignition power? I have been looking on both the haltech and maxxecu diagram but I can't figure it out 😅 #HUMBLE

What if you already have a OB0 to OB1 liggy back? Wouldn't I just do the same process except eliminate The OB1 jumper harness and replace it with a stock/OB0 ECU? Basically scrap the OB1 ECU and jumper harness and just do this process with the motor harness (CRX) and OB0 ECU (stock ECU)?

Would this ECU have flex fuel capability? I’d be more interested in that since I’m staying NA but will be running a 12:1cr. The goal is to run ethanol since I’m sure 12:1 is right at the edge of 91oct I just don’t want to have to test to see what the ethanol content/percentage is.

you can use painter's tape to create a mold around the obd1 connector then use hot glue or epoxy to protect the pins and keep the wires in place. this method leaves a professional mess free look
@waugh9656

First bro you should have use copper wire and then mark each wire so you dont have to do the depining and then put it back together your making you job harder

Depends on the jumper. I’ve had jumper harnesses that didn’t work well due to poor soldering. Name brand, cheap, it didn’t matter. Either way, it’s a risk. If you like to tinker and have patience, do it. If you don’t, then get the jumper(s).

@lunatic1822
@lunatic1822 2 года назад
@@puffy_performance yes you will. The haltec doesn’t send 12v to the vtec solenoid it will only use a low side. That means it will ground the really to give you 12v

@puffy_performance 2 года назад
@Lunatic1822 so what if i want to go coil n plug how that would wire back to the ecu
@humbleperformance
@humbleperformance 2 года назад
It has ignition outputs. The ecu doesn’t send the power to the coil. The power/ground does. Ecu just tells. When to fire.
