We're doing a Budget Build. AGAIN. Why do we do this to ourselves? Your guess is as good as mine. To spice things up a bit, and add more pain, we've introduced the Wheel of Fordyce, which has a lot of good and bad options on it for ruining our weeks. First ans foremost.. Hope you and your wife had a wonderful trip. Second. Love that bumper. I should do one hahaha. The raw look is better. Sure you can paint it. But it's just going to scratch off. The raw look is way better. Great video. Great hotwheels set. As stated on Instagram... I have that same skateboard. Hahaha. Awesome work.

i vote for both on the bumper, leave it raw and paint. Although i would sand with 200 to make it looks like a uniformed brushed finish and them spray some satin clear over it

Hey matt.....leave bumpee raw....but take off and spray with water and leave outside for a week to get some real rust on it....then clear coat matt. Give more feel to your truck. Realism.....then add a similar rear bumper and do same. Definately be cool...plus think of adding some more character and age....live the uploads and these builds. Peace.

I say raw but put the skateboard horizontal over the back window as opposed to hanging out on the side of the truck …. Love that bumper.

You might wanna mount the skateboard to the roll bar instead. Might be a snag point if you mount it to the side there.

Love the bumper but im just bored of 'patina' finishes. Not sure it looks right with a new build anyways, unless you have some weathering planned?! Otherwise, both builds looking great, fun build 👍

I'd dig the raw look if it matched up to the condition of the rest of the truck. But since the rest of the truck is so shiny, I say prime/paint it.

On the bumper it looks out of place raw because the truck looks brand new. Its like a sema truck with a rusted front bumper. But i do like it!

Nice job. I agree with you on keeping the bumper raw. There is a slight risk of having a batch of small bumpers but the reward, in this case outways the risk. Is there a Wednesday stream tonight?

Very nice bumper Matt. I have a phoenix but was wondering if the interior could be modified to fit in the Fordryce. Was thinking of switching bodies and maybe drilling holes to add door handles to work with interior but not sure on length and width. Thanks. Again great video like always.

I believe those interiors are interchangeable. You should test fit before doing any drilling. Thanks for watching!

@@scalebuildersguild Matt do u know if the transmission comes with the metal bearing holder and upgraded gears. Also is the 6% overdrive good enough of is it better to get more by getting the front overdrive gears for axle. Thanks.

6% is plenty for typical trail driving. Metal bearing holder and gears, I can't confirm. Please check with Vanquish!

Thanks for the info Matt. I have the transmission and straight axles off the pro on my Phoenix and love it a ton. Think it might have a bit better parts from the kit. Think the spur on transmission is even metal. Thanks again.

Run skateboards instead of sliders. You'll roll right over the rocks..... unless it's a tiny pebble. Then your truck will flip forward onto its face.
