In this video I answer the most asked questions from the camper build video. How much did it cost? How much did it weigh ? I Install a 12 volt fridge . I build a small enclosure for the fridge and insulate around it . Then I install a cheap diesel heater .

Don't need to be a armchair builder. For $5,000 you can get a used nice camper and save yourself a lot of time, that most don't have. This is how he makes money, so of course he builds his own.

Use a Hammock instead, cuz they are the best for your back and they are super ez to put up and take-down. I learned that from all the old retired factory worker men whose wives wanted to travel and discovered the best nights sleep they had ever got in years were in fact in Hammocks! And why those who sleep in them are void of back pain issues!@@blackspruce1861

Awesome build, we have an old Coleman Rio Grande that is mouse ridden. This gives me a great idea of what to do with it. I did notice that both inlet and exhaust for the heater where below the floor, not sure if anyone has made a comment, but it might be a good idea to get a stainless screen to place over them in order to keep out the mud daubers, and other nest building pests. ... now to add to my 'round tuit' list :)

Maybe it is due to age, but I couldn't manage with a refrigerator on the floor. I would have built a cabinet with a trash can or dirty clothes bin or something under the refrigerator to raise it up. I use rubber grommets or washers and foam to try and isolate noisy items like water or fuel pumps. I like your reasoning on the plywood. I bought my wood in early fall of one year, let it sit in the sun until rain, then put it around the sides of the garage until early spring, then painted it with deck paint before mounting it to the pontoon frame. It lasted 14 years sitting in the weather before I replaced it with aluminum dock decking.

This was one of the most informative and enjoyable videos on a camper build. The diesel heater you put in was a good addition to the camper I am a hvac/r guy and those little jet furnaces are are great. The refrigerator you in stalled with the freezer was a great idea; however, the freezer usually does not get cold enough to hold ice cream to temp and that’s because of the sugar content in the ice cream. Looking forward to another adventure with you. Oh, nice shop I would love to have a shop like that.

You are quite a craftsman, great job! 👍 At some point, you may want to consider beefing up the axle. I used to have a small mowing trailer with the same rated axle and hit a big pothole and the axle bent big time. The wheel was pointed sideways. The trailer place said that’s too lightly rated an axle and I replaced it with a 2500 lb axle. I know it doesn’t sound like much difference but it was much beefier and I never had another problem

I don’t know if you did this but all the holes you drilled in the deck should have RTV in them before the bolts went in. The hole you cut for the heater should be sealed too. You can get fire resistant sound dampener panels to put in the area where the heater is. 😊

It looked like you installed the fuel filter the wrong way, the visible clear side goes towards the tank. Also to quiet the fuel pump place a thick chunk of rubber between the pump and frame,, 3/8" or more thickness. Over all a super job on everything. Oh, and a little sink would not hurt with like a 3 gallon tank.

I've watched numerous videos on these , I have Maine friends on lobsterboats using them. Hail to the Chinese. I prefer the Moo Lang Tais to the Ho- Chi -Mihns. More thrust power. I saw a guy heating his house bedroom with one, but he put an extendo PVC pipe on the muffler and installed a computer fan in it that was powered by a 5 Watt Panel and a battery that I think also ran the Deisel unit. The pipe kept the initial startup fumes from blowing back into the house window, making wifey scream. So you'd have like a 3 foot pipe propped up at an angle. Yes, remove it for the drive home. Duh. Silver metallic HVAC Heat tape is my new trim thing on bikes etc. You could make like 3/4" strips to trim the corner edges of the boxes, it would look so dope. Even when wrinkled, you can smooth it down awesomely with a scissor handle or something. I made a chainguard with one. Versus 24.99 for a "snakeskin". Oh and it would look great on the heat guard behind the purple Girlie Stove in the cabin. No more sharp edges . Okay I'll stop with that.

Good luck with the DC fridge, but my experience is that they draw a LOT of battery power with a large battery barely able to power one overnight, but maybe the tech has improved. Propane works much better, with the large fridge/freezer in our new camper drawing a little under a pound of propane a day. Again good luck!

Didn't get a real clear view of your heater fuel pump but maybe a small piece of closed cell foam sandwiched between the pump body and the mounting spot would reduce the thumping sound? Nice little rig you built. Wish I would have kept more of my Dad's woodworking tools after he passed. Good luck from a fellow Michigander.

Subbed and liked, Awesome build it gave me many ideas. One idea for you, you could coat the bottom of your floor ply under the camper in rhino truck bed liner. Not only will it protect your floor, it adds a slight amount of insulation factor and noise dampening. Cheap and easy mod. Keep it comin brother

Concerning the diesel heater...you may want to replace the fuel line with a quality one. Also if you look hard enough on the internet, you can find a much quieter fuel pump. I've seen videos where that fuel line would fail.
