If you let the water cool, the wax hardens at the top and floats and you can just pick it out and use it for more candles, or use it in your wax warmer :)
Okay, as someone who reuses almost every ounce of wax from their candles, we need to relax. Are we upset she’s using water? Whatever, that’s called a facial, everyone and self care is still in the budget. Go pick a fight with a Tesla driver, and leave people doing well enough alone, Y’all. ✌️
@@briezzy365 I’m confused by the Tesla part of your comment. Are you saying that people with money are the problem when it comes to being wasteful or that by having an electric car you’re somehow wasting more resources than a traditional car or is it just sarcasm that’s not reading well? As a society that is increasing our ways of being wasteful because social media loves videos on cutting things up etc I can understand why some are pointing out something like wasting water. Unfortunately one of the defining characteristics of being human is being wasteful. Honestly I thought she was using rubbing alcohol at first since I don’t watch her channel and don’t really care that it is actually water but your comment in general kind of had me confused.
Annie’s art studio: Annie, if you poured these just a little bit less tall, leaving more space at the top, you could sell them is “water candles”, with a little planchette to hold a packet of wax - impregnated wicks. They’re very pretty, and you wouldn’t have to leave a whole lot of space for your customers to be able to put a layer of water on top of your acrylic, and then a layer of oil in which to float the wick holder. You would pretty much be the only person selling that product, and the fact that you have mostly filled the column with acrylic and inclusions would mean that they’d be a whole lot easier to clean because they’d be much more shallow containers to have to reach into for cleaning.❤️ Edited to correct the auto correction. Sigh; sometimes I wonder if there’s not a little imp running the autocorrector.
@@hal6562 : Yes; That’s true, but rn there’s absolutely no time in My Life To take that on; Since it was my idea, if I decide to take it on later on, having two of us that do it will not be a problem. It’s easy to prove that was my idea first.
We used to make these all the time, but we used baby oil instead of acrylic, and used a cork to keep everything inside. Bonus: the baby oil would take on the fragrance and you could use it like perfume
I up cycled my old candle glass jars with lids- saved them for one year. Filled them with cookies I made homemade for a Christmas gift each cookies fit the jar wrapped in cupcake holders. Perfect 👍🏼 🎉
@@delightful75 then there's the extra "I'm just making sure some people think the way I do" comment on the original thing. Cause I did the same rotflmao
I have so many of these and started using them for tall tropical frozen drinks lol I'm about to do this and make some holiday and birthday gifts! Yours are so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing ♥️
My mom uses them to put fake flowers in like a vase for them. She uses them and puts rocks or glass pebbles from the store in them so the fake flower stem can sit in them. To add a bit extra you can use a ribbon to make a bow around the middle. Make sure to heat seal the ends of the ribbon to prevent fraying. My mom reuses different sized ones for different types of plants. You can also use the ones with lids to store things like crystals, rings you wear, and other things you might use or collect.
I just use candle holders to make new candles or hold small things. Makeup supplies, art supplies, sewing supplies, scissors, seeds for my birds, plant seeds, ect.
Too cool. I love them. Very creative way to recycle boo. I just subbed. Looking forward to seeing what else you have done. Stay safe and always blessed, cherish the simple things ♥ 🙏
I found your channel then discovered that your friend you went to Scotland with was my former roommate. Hope you and AS had a great trip. Her photos were great from her mom’s place.
@@Katragine A random person contacting her on the internet, revealing personal information and talking about where her friend's mom lives?? That's chilling
I just love this ..they are so beautiful..I love the shabby chic look without trying..love what you do , do what you love....don't mind what others say, life's too short ..hugs from a grandmother in Florida
I love how you said that the boiling water calms your heart because me too!!!! I also use this trick to get the old wax out, and something feels spiritual about the energy given by the boiling water. You’re awesome!
Beautiful work also wanted to say thank you for using gloves while working with the epoxy. I've seen some amazing resin artists but then I see they don't use gloves or anything.
Okay but for real can we get a tutorial on using old wax to make new candles? I have like twenty and I want to know how to make new candles! How and where do I get new wicks?!
you should insert the little tiny glass oil lamp inserts you can refill with oil before the resin cures. They could be used as oil lamps when the lights go out or on the table at dinner!
Gosh iam new to this whole witch stuff but what i know is that you did a really good job im definetly gonna make a couple of these diys and i also love how you also took the time to respond to almost all the comments ❤
nooo dont use the microwave. theres a metal bit at the bottom of the candle. i usually throw the candle in the freezer for a bit and the wax pops right out
@@NiKiMa023 reduce reuse recycle. The first tenant is reduce. Reuse refers to not only the item at hand, but also not using more virgin non-biodegradable materials to repurpose the item. This fails on all three tenants
@@SavageMinnow it’s not like this girl is dumping resin into the ocean💀 not everything in the world ends up in the ocean like some people say. one day this piece might end up in a antique shop to be enjoyed by someone else. y’all go for people for no reason.
Such a great I have bunch of these candle vessels. Prefect for a water float to prevent fire from the items in the bottom.. I think.. maybe I have to do experiments first
You know I really miss seeing this in stores. Lbs I remember these use to be sold in stores when I was a child. I always wondered what happened I wanted to add some to my house as decoration in certain areas! Those are cute
Heating in the microwave will unevenly heat the glass with the possibility of making it shatter. And heating in a pot of water on the stove is just a pain.
I KNOW it was resin! I was saying...she could ALSO make another candle, instead of the resin, do everything the same but add a wick and use wax ... INSTEAD. But thanks 👍
I thought this too. She could of used them for things that could of been reusable or just left them dried in the jar, it looked so pretty dry with no epoxy. Now it’s just waiting to be in landfill 😪
Exactly. She just made them unrecyclable (unless you want to dig out all the resin), and made biodegrade material, not biodegradable. Something that could’ve been useful, now useless. It isn’t upcycled. It was turned into junk. It’s the opposite of upcycling
I use the boiling water method too. It's clean and works. Also, you can re-melt all of the disks of wax and make new candles. I add the bits left in the bottom of T-lights too. You can buy wicks on amazon or make your own with twine dipped in wax. I would never put a candle in the microwave! They put metal wick holders in there. I'm not trying to clean that mess up!
