Your new door looks lovely--I especially like the way the caning harmonizes with your pendant light shade. Sweet! 😊 Re: your request for cane tips...I have heard that soaking the cane in water & installing it still slightly damp helps it be nice & tight after it dries, but I do not have personal experience with this. I do know that, when I had the caning replaced on a couple of my chairs, the artisan said to run a damp sponge briefly over the caning every few weeks, at night before I go to bed, so the seat could re-dry without being sat upon while the caning was damp, to help keep the cane from getting too stretched out over time from being sat upon repeatedly. 🙂 That's all the tips I've ever heard about caning!😉
To cover the silver hinge hardware... I have used paint markers and metalic Sharpie markers. Since the hinges won't be touched often, such as with a knob, the marker color should stay and not wear off. It has worked for me!
Looks great have you thought of metal gold spray for the hardware ? And I’d paint the surround molding around the door the same as the door . It will make it more finished 😊thanks for sharing
looks great! thinking of caning my doors too, this will be a big help. might want to consider changing out your drapery to something that ties into the dk green? linen would be wonderful! thanks so much :)
