Hey, thanks for featuring the dynamic carbon fiber. Your desk looks sleek and durable! ( If you're interested, there is a ton of innovation regarding this material, including ways to recycle it and make it from sustainable plant-based epoxy, too. Some carbon fiber can be 3D printed, (made from plants via biochar processed by pyrolysis in parabolic solar ovens, and plant-based epoxy), that may be a boon to car manufacturing and prosthetics, among other uses. On an industrial scale, the existing carbon fiber in circulation can be recycled with high temperatures. The difference between that, and plant-based epoxy, is that the newer type can be transformed without high heat, and instead: certain chemicals at room temperature. So, that is something to be mindful of. It may not be ideal for all uses, but great for some.)

Great video! I was waiting for another carbon fiber video after the red table a few years ago. For some ideas on embedding cloth in epoxy, try searching for 'surfboard glassing' videos. To make the cloth 'smooth over' easier, you might want to make vertical 'relief cuts' like they do when making surfboards. You got this!

Would this work on a hollow wood door I use as a desktop and warp the carbonfiber around the edge of the door? any tips it would be my first attempt at stone coat epoxy.

On the smaller high shelf, it seems like you would be able to see the underside if you are sitting down. Would it work to first coat the bottom with epoxy and carbon fiber but only to the first edge, and then do the top and sides, wrapping under to the bottom?

Holy God 😮 as someone that works with composites I about crapped my pants. I can think of so many things that would give you the same results for far less waste.... business must be good to be hacking off $60 pieces of cloth.

My main reason for watching this video was to see how you dealt with the rounded corners when laying on the carbon fibre, you completely skipped over that part, why, would it have made this simple video too difficult?

I get that you want enough product to cover rather than be short in supply then waste time making another batch, but I feel as if with the UTC, you always make too much and end up wasting a lot
