Got everything except the pump from a local home improvement store for less than $25. Got the pump from Harbor Freight for less than $50. The two sinks used were salvaged from a neighbors renovation.
I just built my own last night, but did a 6x4 configuration for use with my FastRack system. One question though, the beveled washers, did you just heat them up and push them in place, or are they secured with any sort of glue or cement?
+Shawn Bremaud I did not use any heat or glue for the washers. I just tapped them into place with a small rubber mallet. It has been two years since I've built it, and it still going strong! Thanks for watching!
+EyegotsouL I ended up just using a heat gun and it worked great. But the sump pump I had kicking around didn't have enough juice to produce anywhere near enough flow. Luckily I have a 1/3hp jet pump laying around doing nothing, so used that and it worked great. Working on a vertical build now, with the pump on the bottom, the Rubbermaid tub above with a hole cut in the bottom, sealed with a sink/tub flush mounted drain to flow directly to the pump so it can use gravity to prime it. Then output via hose back to the bottle washer.
+Simon Ingall I think its the 1HP pump from Harbor Freight. www.harborfreight.com/1-hp-stainless-steel-submersible-dirty-water-pump-with-tethered-float-2910-gph-69300.html
Could you please post a full parts list and I was wondering if there is anyway to add a corny keg cleaner to this by making the cleaning attachments interchangeable?
Great job! Tried to replicate your model but the first 4 jets shoot out brilliant and then the pressure in the remaining isnt great. Any suggestions, or did you experience this yourself when building it? Thanks in advance! 😀
I don't recall having any problems with pressure at all. I Still get about 12" of height from every riser. Did you get a pump smaller than 1HP?? Did you build it too big?? Mine measures approximately 12"X15". If you figure it out, let me know. It might just help others with a similar problem. Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks PVC is cheap enough I could build racks for different sizes with quick hook ups. Makes switching super fast and easy. Funny I was wanting a DIY for convayor washer to wash farm crates, used tires wheels and any other tools, equipment that would fit lol Im going to use old washer dryer steel for my tunnel. I was having trouble thinking of how to get multi ports with decent spray force though. I was wanting to make something that could be multi purpose. Since I make Kombucha I also wanted a way to wash glass tea bottles, 1/2 and 1 gal jars Originally was thinking dishwasher pump into copper tube with multiple 4 way fittings and light flexible copper tubes that could be bent to spray multiple bottles at a time.
Hoping you can help as we built one for 24 bottles with a 1/2 horsepower well pump pulling with a 1 inch tube with check valve. Can't get any pressure on the nozzles at all. Any ideas?
Did you use the beveled washers? The only thing I can think of is to find something else better to restrict the water flow, allowing the water to shoot up higher.
i very much liked this vid. Well done! 25 at a time would really cut bottle cleaning down substantially. did you consider 360 degree sprayer inserts on the end of the posts you hv here? I am still gathering equipment and "time-saving" DIY's. Yours will surely be added. Respectfully, Margo
+Margo Fr I did not consider 360° inserts. I went with the least expensive parts I could find. I don't even know where to find the 360° inserts. If you decide to try them, please let me know how they work. I might make another one and redesign everything. Thank you so much for watching!
Chk this out;Mister Landscaper brand has a pkg of misters MLM-04[mists a 165-degree half cicle @ a 4' radius spray pattern. If u had any "stubborn" stains/residue, you probably wouldn't hv 'em long! or DripMaster brand has a 360-degree mister,25psi, max 10' radius[61033D].The ends on either can b barbed, threaded or straight. You could probably just jam them in to one of you standing pipes & the force of the water w/make them operate w/o much efforts. These are like "nibs" you add to your lawn&garden sprinkler components. Costs range from .40cents to$3-$4 pkgs. What is the diameter of the pipes you got here? Love to hv plans/ diagrams if any available. Anyhow, keep making your vids. I liked them. Respectfully, Margo
In the commentaries they said they were 1/2" CPVC pipes. Looking at the chart, the external diameter of a 1/2" CPVC pipe measures .84 inch. It is bigger than the opening of a 341ml bottle that is at .71". I can't see clearly. Is he using bigger bottles with a bigger size neck?
@@McFarlanMade Thank you. So, the format of the bottle is closed to ours in Canada but for a few ml. The caps are standard so it should be about the same opening. Are the pipe size 1/2" external? We don't have them here. You know you can recap the twistable cap bottle right? You can even reuse the caps many times as I do, just use a cloth to protect your hand. It is even faster to recap. I am planning to drill the holes directly in the pipes. It will not need a tee for each hole. I will need to keep the bottles straight. I can build it myself instead of buying the fastrack.
@@pinotte23 The OD of the pipe is indeed .840 after doing some research. It is the standard piping we use to supply hot/cold water behind the walls in our houses here in the States. Commonly sold in Home Depot and Lowes big box stores. And I do know about the twist caps, I just prefer the caps.
@@McFarlanMade Ok thank, so my bottles are the problem. I measured the inside again with a sliding foot and it is wider at .745", but not wide enough. I have too many bottles, I will try my simpler solution and thank you for the inspiration.
@ John Doe, both sinks are basic utility type sinks. The one thats upside down is a stainless steel one that helps keep the carboy upright. The hole in the sink is large enough so that the riser and carboy neck can both fit. It fell a couple of times from the water pressure so I ended up using bungee cords to secure it.
excellence, I was looking for some examples to build. yours is winning , what is exactly the liquid you use to clean up the bottles? is it hot? is it just soap + water ?
+RockJona Mucaled I just use Oxiclean from Walmart. Works great for me. I only use about 2 scoops. I dissolve it first and then dump it into warm water. I usually wash about 100 or so bottles for about 15-30 min (depending on how dirty they are), change out solution for fresh water, rinse the bottles and let them air dry. Thanks for watching!
