Thank you both for all the advice and answering all the questions that are down the road for living off the grid. It is a shame that we have to conform to the olden day structures that have funded out city systems for absorbing our hard earned cash. Thank you so much for being transparent and Talking about the problems of parking. This was one of my main concerns with the possibility of going small and tiny homes.

I enjoy watching videos about the tiny home concept and the van/trailer-life minimalist approach to living. It reminds me of the feelings I had as a child when hiding under a card table tent, and later, when building and hanging out in a treehouse. However, I am reluctant to dive headlong into this lifestyle because it seems like it would be an incredibly labor intensive way to live. Every normal daily activity takes more effort than when one is living in even a modestly sized traditional home. This includes food storage, preparation and cooking, showering, going to the bathroom, doing laundry, and so on. Not to mention the extra work required to generate and manage power, finding and filling the water tank, disposing of gray and black water waste, heating and cooling the space, etc. I enjoy many hobbies and traveling, but feel like this lifestyle requires so much work that my leisure time would be reduced to a fraction of what it is today. Yes, there is a tiny societal benefit to generating one's own power, but that can be accomplished in a traditional home too. And there are lots of things any homeowner can do to reduce their energy consumption and conserve water. I understand that part of the appeal is affordability, but that seems to come at the cost of increased effort and time, which is the most valuable commodity of all. Additionally, some folks seem to want to be able to just hitch up and drive away. Like I said before, I love to travel. I go by car, by motorcycle, by airplane and can do this affordably if careful, but I never felt the need to drag my whole house and all my belongings along with me to every destination. There is something sweet about going away and then returning home. And finally, I love my wife like crazy, but sometimes I want to be more than ten feet away from her, if only for a little while. My opinions may not be very popular. I apologize if I offended anyone. I just wanted to share my thoughts. Thank you.

This is one of, if not the best video on tiny home living where the people seem "real" in the sense that they actually have stuff. When you watch a lot of other videos you feel like the people just moved in and are waiting for their stuff and it comes off impractical once the stuff gets there. These folks have figured out a way to incorporate their stuff into their space and it's perfect. On top of all that, they have something completely different, a workbench!!!! That's a first and it's awesome.

Thank you for the tour of your small home conversion you're a very nice couple! and I hope the laws change so people in tiny homes and motorhomes don't have these problems when people own Acres they should be able to have whoever they want on their property and do whatever they want. When you're not in Suburbia government- City Hall should have no say ! I also think something like this is a good solution for the homeless that they should be able to at least have little tiny homes. Take care and I love how homie you made your place

Nice tiny home. I would think with the stove being so close to the open closet the smell of the food would get on the clothes.

Seeing where your stove is, now, I must tell you you need a drape over your clothes. I promise you clothes that hang their very long before you wear them will get greasy or oily stains on the sleeves on the shoulders any part that is exposed very long from your cooking. I used to make the mistake of leaving my closet doors open because and open and shut them every day... I'm the only one in the house... I realized that being right across from my kitchen, one side of my clothes were getting atmospheric microparticulates of grease and anything else I boiled on them from the air wafting over to my clothes. The top back of my couch got it too.

I appreciate the honesty about your struggle to find a place to park your home. It's ridiculous how government has completely over-reached.

This is one of your best tiny house videos yet. This couple have one of the most unique tiny homes I have seen. I absolutely love the planter. It is awesome that they both ride bicycles to work and work in industries that are very progressive.

My goodness, what's with all these complaints about the length of the vid!?!! Yes, it is long, but there is soooo much valuable, can't-be-miss information on the "whys" and the "hows" and the "whats" ... this vid is very informative and instructional! For the ADD'ers, there is a list of time-stamps, you can always skip to the parts you want and be done quickly.

I absolutely LOVE your shower setup. I've always hated how in RV's and Tiny Homes, the shower space is really just wasted space that you only use for a very very short time each day. Even if you used it daily - that is a great setup as you can take your showers, then basically put the shower away and have the space for other things. The countertop is brilliant, so useful! You could even store your laundry basket in there under the counter when you aren't showering. I actually like it much better than the older RoadTreks that used to have a model where the shower used the wet-bath toilet area plus the hallway outside the toilet. Great choices on all the storage - you can never have enough places to put things to stay organized. As it's modular, you can always downsize a bit later on if you change your minds. I've always wondered how some of those folks in tiny houses maintain a professional wardrobe when they have little to no hanging space for good clothes that can't be wrinkled. You can't show up to many jobs wearing the same 3 outfits!

One change or addition I would make is to hide the large closet w/a curtain, or retractable rigid panel curtains.

This one is especially for those interested to learn because they have the desire to do same or similar thing. There are many others for you to watch that are short & just show the aesthetics. The beauty of it is, you can stop watching & others can watch more. I gladly watched all of it, soaking it up like a sponge. If I didnt, I'd watch it in sections. No one says you have to watch it all. The great thing is, they were kind & caring enough to give info to any one who wants it. Move along...

Thank you, What a great home you have created! You two are very ingenious. I have that washer because I got tired of dragging all our dirty laundry up & down the stairs! My husband took out a cabinet and I had a washer/dryer up stairs! If your clothes aren’t filthy you can use the short settings and I stop the dryer after about 5 minutes and hang the clothes on hangers and they are steaming hot and dry in no time. Have you tried using Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds Biodegradable Cleaner? It is great on dishes, general cleaning and can be used for clothes washing, it’s wonderful stuff.

The Murphy bed you were thinking about already exists. Except you don't have to rotate around to get to the table. The bottom of the Murphy bed has a table that folds out with the leg or legs that fold out below the table top

For Kay, may I recommend a basic work uniform of 3 skirts, 3 pairs of slacks, and then change your look with a variety of tops and jackets?

I commend you for the composting and recycling. I do that as well. Vermicomposting and regular kitchen composting is great! I have about 1/10 the amount of trash as I do recycling.

Have you thought about lifting the trash & recycling bins in order to make better use of the space? There's a big void at the top so by lifting & making the "new" area below another drawer would give you another storage area, just a thought

That has go to be the most clothes i have ever seen in a Tiny home. One closet section should have been converted in to the idea of the reverse Murphy bed. That way it frees up the main wall

Beautiful home! I’ve been watching many tiny homes as well as vehicle conversions and my husband and I keep looking around our “brick and mortar” home realizing we have so much “stuff”! We have been purging and getting rid of so much and our dream is to one day tiny home live with our son. Love your vidi im not a real minimalist kinda girl either. Amd the planter rocks. Had a idea for your ikea wall units to make your life more simple and works well. Theres these i call them hard points but the are plugs that go through your cabinet or i like a small inch by inch sq. WoodDowl , atttach above sids and below.plugs go through and has a kinda skate key click on. Get tent material nylon and for more strength run lightweight tent tubes thru lengthwise. Attach above they role up at top then when you gotta go, unroll clip in to points and make sure tight fit good to go. I made my own works great. Anyways you guys really did your homework it great.🙂

Love, love, love all the storage! Also like the skylight- more light and so much more practical than a wall of windows. Last time I moved, I used this non-stick packing “tape” - like a narrow strip of Saran Wrap- and I wrapped my ikea Khalix bookshelf without unpacking it 😃

Uhh, where and which tiny homes have you seen with a wide open living rooms? If anything I dislike them precisely because most have no real living space? Living space? Often no real space to sit coze up with a book, watch while sitting with someone or have visitors to host comfortably?

Guys , an idea to don't have to remove all our clothes every time you travel : cover the front of your closet with a tight fishing net. They even come in different colours and all you'll need is to roll it on a metal or wooden pole. Greetings from Toronto.

I’m a sailor and I’ve lived between my 1986 Volkswagen Westfaila and my Columbia 30 sailboat.. it’s amazing how many similarities and challenges we have in common. I would like to try my hand at a “Tiny Home”.. I’m in love with the idea and concept.. However, the legal challenges yet to over come in order to live in a tiny home is very discouraging. The need, demand and technology are all ripe for this to become a viable solution to our overwhelming need for economically viable housing demand.. put old school building codes, zoning, and consequently politics will keep many out of the Tiny Home market.. it has me. Did the Colorado thing 40 years ago. Lived in a tiny cabin (smaller than your trailer) near Pine Cliff. Ever eat at the Wondervue Cafe? I'm sure the area has changed dramatically since I was there. Used to go down to Arvada at I-70 to buy potatoes and beans off a truck once a week. Worked at IBM in Boulder. Good luck with Jeffco. Real gremlins running that gov.

Thanks for the excellent tour and explanation of everything you encountered, I'm in the planning and research phase and happy to see that it's not AS difficult and expensive as I feared. The way you break down costs helped me figure alot of financial stuff and I am like you, not giving up my certain creature comforts so I was super excited to see I can have all I want.

Great ideas - as far as removing tools from peg - board - all you need to discuss is placing drop cloth over everything to keep it in its place . . .OR. . .use plastic wrap to wrap wall so that your tools remain secure. You can put grommets into drop cloth to mount with a few hooks to secure things to your wall; especially since you move so seldom.

Love the skylight, tho it sounds like it's been a challenge. I have skylights in my living rm, & I've found that greenhouse shade cloth, mine is green, (or can get tan?) really helps keep heat out in summer on the eastern side of liv room, but on the western side, (hot in afternoon), I do total blackout. Mine are flat so I do it on outside, but I saw someone make a curtain on inside of skylight w/small spring rods on both ends. in that space I would put multiple layers of reflective bubble insulation very snug against each side or fold it upward on all 4 sides a a few inches & install removable trim so that it's sealed.

$6000 to repair an axel? They don’t cost an eighth of that brand new! Thanks for all the good info and ideas.
